Please, can anyone tell me about this man and his accusations about the President. I know some but some of it makes no sense.

Andrew, you can read about him and about the past GC president Robert Folkenberg on the Adventist Today website.

Adventist Today is an independent magazine run by a board of SDAs. It does not speak FOR the church, but it comments about it.

Well I did that and nothing new came out.
I ask this question on another forum and I was attacked, they pulled the topic.

I don't think Adventist Today has done any recent investigation or reporting on Dennis's allegations or on the business dealings of the GC.

I doubt you'll get any Adventist forums to discuss these issues. Your experience, Adam, is typical, I think.

I, for one, am grateful beyond words to be free from immersion in the unsavory stories I used to have to pursue. I began to feel tainted by what I learned. . .beyond a certain point, knowing details serves no real purpose except the satisfaction of curiosity. Once you know something is corrupt, fascination with the details merely draws one into orbit around the corruption.

I praise God for calling me to the task of reporting when he did, and I praise him for releasing me from it when my work was done.

Colleen, what you say makes very good sense. I will follow your advice and drop my search.

Thanks for you help. May God bless you and yours.

Andrew,

The six-year-long case of David Dennis has finally been resolved. All charges have been dismissed or withdrawn, according the Carlos Medley of the Adventist Review. You can read the news release at: http://www.adventistreview.org/2001-1543/news.html

Dennis, the only thing that troubles me is that Carlos Medley of the Adventist Review is making the report, and I have no faith in the SDA org. telling the truth.

Andrew,

I agree with your assessment of this matter.

yes, i would be interested in hearing his side of the story. The article wasn't clear on WHY he withdrew.

I have just discovered a response from Dennis on why he withdrew. Something about the first amendment and running out of money. Not sure what the firt amendment has to do with it. The letter is at this address: http://www.truthorfables.com/David_Dennis.htm
I wonder why he hasn't left the adventist church after all that has happened to him, caused by people who "have the truth."

Hannah,

David Dennis was the director of the GC auditing service for years. According to his side of the story, when he started to reveal financial irregularities about Folkenberg/McClure, they immediately accused him of sexual sins to shut him up. It may be plausible that they ALL have their secret problems/sins.

After reading Mr. Dennis letter, I feel the same as I did. Funny the church want's to error on the side of mercy in every case but Mr. Dennis. If the chargers are true, against Mr. Dennis, then he should be given due process. Mr. Dennis was not given due process. If the chargers are not true, and I believe they are not, then this is no way to treat some in the church. This is no way to treat one out of the church either.

Also, I know of pastors that messed with the money and are gone for ever.

#1 Pastor didn't keep good records of his spending of evangelism funds, gone.

#2 Pastor received money from a member, then member wanted receipt, pastor gone.

#3 Pastor made statements like "church shouldn't exist to support the confereces, conferences should exist to support churches, pastor gone.

#4 Pastor ask church for money, pastor still has credentials, pastoring else where.

#5, #6, #7 Not sure what for, not aldultry, but gone.

Mr. Folkenberg resigned for what? And is still on the payroll.

How do you do this.?
