This is taken from another current SDA Forum:

..First, You are badly mistaken if you think SISTER WHITE believed in the trinity. The pioneers (including EGW) were very WELL VERSED in the doctrine of the trinity, and like others that actually know what the trinity teaches they rejected wholeheartedly.

GOD is a person, He has a face, he sits upon his throne. He is a PERSONAL Being. He is everywhere present by His Spirit. And HE has a Son named Jesus. The doctrine of the trinity destroys the personality of GOD. and makes GOD some kind of unknowable nature. Which is the doctrine of anti-Christ.

Sister White knew exactly what the doctrine of the trinity meant, and if she believed it, she would of said so. But she taught completely contrary to it. How can anyone read her writings and then say she believed Christ was simply an expression of the God (Without self consciousness, will or mind-orthodox trinity) or even say she believed Christ was eternally co-equal with the Father in every respect and not the begotten Son of GOD (tritheism).

DID EGW believe that JESUS was eternally Co-equal with the Father as the Trinity doctrine states? NO.

"The Eternal Father, the unchangeable one, gave his only begotten Son, tore from his bosom Him who was made in the express image of his person, and sent him down to earth to reveal how greatly he loved mankind. Advent Review and Sabbath Herald - 07-09-95

"God is the Father of Christ; Christ is the Son of God. To Christ has been given an exalted position. He has been made equal with the Father. All the counsels of God are opened to His Son. Testimonies for the Church Volume Eight ñ 268

IS Jesus truly the DIVINE SON OF GOD? Begotten before Creation, with His own mind, will and consciousness? Who has received the NAME YAH, and all power, and a throne by inheritance?

Or it he, A co-equal, co-eternal being, that has taken the role of the Son? (Pantheonism)

Or is he an hypostases, which proceeds from the Father by the processes of filiation and spiration, and in truth has neither self consciousness, his own will, or his own mind? The theological word, which explains this, is consubstantiality (homoousious). This doctrine is called the trinity, but is the basically the same as the condemned doctrine of Sabellianism or Modalism. This fact, the church has tried to hide by coining the term hypostases 'persona', which is laughable when this doctrine clearly denies that Christ is a being.

So do you believe that Christ is

A: truly the begotten DIVINE SON OF GOD, begotten before all creation?

B: a Co-equal being, who was only role playing?(pantheon)

Or C: or a hypostases (Sabellian/trinitarian)?

Friend, I truly pray that you chose answer A. "Thou are the Christ, the SON OF THE LIVING GODÖAnd Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. ^^

What do you think of this?

I have wondered about this .I have seen it on the forem that she,in her earlier writtings, did not teach the trinity. The home church I attended,I know believed in the trinity[historic adventist]but I wonder if they always believed or changed their minds after time and study of EGW.I know that one day we were talking about dinosaurs and the 'head lady' said that' she believed'man and beast got together and created them. But now, that was 'just her theory on the subject'.Low and behold, after I 'came out',I found the same teachings in earlier writtings of EGW!!!So,my question is,where can I find her early beliefs on the trinity?I still have bookoos of her writtings b/c of my husband. Thanks to anyyone who can enlighten me!! Angie
