Psalms 51:12-13 gave me a whole new perspective on my salvation. it reads:

12Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
13Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
And sinners shall be converted to You.

The setting is David has just sinned with Bathsheba, and is confessing this sin. David clearly understands that God must do His part first, restore, then David can go out at share his joy with others. This joy is what causes David to be able to tell others, and allow the Holy Spirit to convert them. This is so contrary to what I was taught in Adventism. you were suppose to work at it. David seems to expect it from God because that is part of his salvation.

Joy, I have to admit was nothing I ever had in my 34 years of Adventism. Now I can's seem to keep it to myself.

Praise be to Jesus for this joy!

Indeed, David had eternity security. God used the Prophet Nathan to confront him with his seared conscience. Once a son, always a son! Although David's fellowship with God was severed, God never gave up on him as a member of His family. Similarly, every good parent never gives up on their wayward children. Even more importantly, a good parent does not disown (throw out of the family) a child for their bad behavior. Likewise, our Heavenly Father does not disown those that were truly sealed as His own.

Being God restored David's salvation, despite his most horrible sins, we have absolute certainty in the eternal security given His ADOPTED sons and daughters in the year 2002. What an awesome, loving, and caring God we serve!

Amen again! And, Violet, I understand what you mean about the joy. That was an emotion that was foreign to me until the last few years. Praise God for being sovereign and for putting his joy in our hearts! It is part of the fruit of the Spirit! (see Gal. 5:22-23)

Amen, Amen, Amen!!!! I go to the Christian chuch which I attend and people are smiling and happy to see me, even when they do not know me.
I remember going to the SDA church and and no one was smiling. It was almost like it was a sin to smile. I am so glad I learned joy before I decided not to rejoin the church. I learned to be thankful and joyful in all things in my 12 step program.
Dennis, I like what you call David's eternity security. And I can have that also. God is truly a loving, caring, and awesome God.

Amen to you, Diane.

Yesterday I attended my son's end-of-school ceremony, his last day in an SDA school, thank God. It was remarkably somber. Imagine eight kids performing a challenging chimes piece, finishing to great applause, and not a single child smiling?! It was disturbing!

If any of you prayed that my son would get out of that school, then I owe you and God big time! What a blessing! Next year he'll be at a non-denominational Christian school that brims with joy. Smiles all around! Joy!

Yay, God.

I am so happy and joyful tonight. I went to my 6th Starting Point class tonight. It was about how to share our experience with Jesus with others. In our small groups we had 4 questions to answer with only one word per question. Here are the questions:
1. What was you life like before Jesus?
2. How did you realize that you needed Jesus?
3. How did you commit your life to Jesus?
4. How is your life different after accepting Jesus.
My answers to the questions were as follows:
1. Legalistic
2. eating disorder(used two words)
3. Pray
4. Free
What that freedom has given me is joy unimaginable with Jesus Christ.
It is so good to be able to smile and be joyful in all things and in all situations.
Hoyster, Thank God your son is finished with his SDA schooling. I took my son out of SDA school in the 4th grade and put him in public school. He had such good teachers there. I really prayed about it as I still had a lot of SDA thinking in my head. WOW!!! I just realized that it was not me that did that. It was God because he knew what my son and I needed. All the good teachers I met showed me that God had people in other churches and not only in the SDA church. This all helped to lead me out of the SDA church one step at a time. I am just realizing this now. Hallelujah, Praise God. Thank You God.
I am not sure if I am expressing my self adequately about taking my son our of SDA schooling, but I do know what is being revealed to me. God has had his hands on me for a long time.
You can understand why I am smiling and am full of joy. I can really understand your joy and smiles.
God is awesome and amazing.
