Next week I will be having a class reunion at the local SDA fellowship hall. At first I was leary about going but when I saw who was coming it started to dawn on me that most of these people were marginal SDA's at best. They went there because their parents sent them.

I was thinking about approaching some and carefully asking about if they are content with their religion and seeing if there may be a need for a Former support group in my home town.

Has anyone ever done this and who did they do it and did it work. I also thought about having some small cards made with my name and number so they could call me later. What do you think about this.

I was still an SDA at our last reunion but in our next one, there's no doubt I would share with associates willing to listen. If you feel led of God, and continue to pray and seek His guidance in this area, I think whatever you do to honor His name will be sweet in His sight...even if the whole crowd turns against you. Remember that sometimes obeying Him and serving others in love and grace does not mean they'll be happy and receptive. Sometimes it's just the opposite.

I was thinking about kind of talking one on one. No doubt if I took on the whole crowd I would be eaten alive. But I am sure the Lord will lead.

He will lead, Violet. Richard and I have gotten to the place that we always pray before going somewhere--especially if it's a group of Adventists, as it was at a wedding we attended today--that God will direct in who we see and what we say and that he will protect us and glory himself. Sometimes it seems as though we have no significant conversations, sometimes it seems as if we have a chance to say something that might make people ask us questions, and sometimes people just give us no opening to talk. We are learning to trust God's sovereignty and to believe that if something needs to be said, God will help us to say it. We never know what people may see or think, and it's absolutely in God's hands.

Absolutely, Violet, don't be afraid to ask questions and to speak. God will help you to know what to say and when and if to say it!

Praising him for glorifying himself through us,
Colleen
