It looks nice Richard. You must spend a fair amount of time and effort (not to mention money) administering this. Thank you for all you do. It is an incredible ministry, the full impact of which will only truly be known at the last day when we stand before the throne of God to receive reward. I have little doubt but that Jesus will reference all the work you and Colleen have done for Adventist and former Adventist and say, "Well done My good and faithful servants".

I also like the new format, and would like to add my appreciation to what Chris said above.

I am so thankful for this forum and the people on here. I truly feel God has lead me here to encourage me that I had not lost my marbles, was completely capable of understanding not only what the SDA church was teaching and it's conflicts with scripture, but scripture itself. You have answered my questions and not passed judgement on me for my situation. I am so thankful. The Lord has been leading me in some frightening and new areas that are intimidating, but I am so confident in his ability to guide me in these things. I am still waiting to see how God turns all these recent/past events into something good for him, but I know that someday all the mysteries will be revealed.

Last night, our church had it's adult Christmas production and it was just wonderful. I came home dancing on the clouds ready to celebrate the real "reason for the season". Finding this forum has truly been a source of encouragement and strength for me. I don't know that I would have felt quite as "free" without it. It has been an incredible weight lifted off my heart, and I've certainly never been involved at the level any of you have. Thanks to all for allowing God to use your experiences to lead/keep people in the truth of Christ alone. I have been so blessed by coming here.

Ditto to all of the above! I have been so blessed to find that I am not alone, that so many others have found the truth in Jesus and have been able to leave Aventism with their minds intact. As my husband says, when you're born into Adventism it becomes a part of your very neurons -- it is SO hard to break free. But the power of God is incredible and He is ultimately in control.

Last week I read an old thread from this forum where Colleen talked about the 'spirit of Adventism' and how it has a hold on people. Praying for the Spirit of Christ to supplant that spirit has taken away the terror and fear that was holding me captive. Praise God, I am truly starting to feel free in Jesus!! And I praise God for the wisdom that he gives to those who trust him - I am grateful that he has lead me to this forum so that I can benefit from your experiences and insights. Thank you again Richard and Colleen and all who are a part of this ministry!

Dear Spokenfor,

I am so happy to hear that your praying for the Spirit of Christ to replace the spirit of Adventism has removed your terror and fear!! What a great gift from God--what a miracle.

Your experience reminds me, again, that the incredible fear and even the shunning or partial shunning so many of us experience as we leave confirms the cultic reality of Adventism. Such fear and terror are not human; those can only come from the "accuser of the brethren"--Satan himself. Adventism really does have a spiritual claim on its members.

The glorious thing is that Jesus has already defeated that spirit, and all we have to do is to call on him to remove it from us and to fill us with himself instead, and he rescues us!

I STILL am amazed and awed by the reality of Jesus' love for me and of the love he puts in my heart for him.

The look is nice, however I'm having some problems navigating. Some of the thread columns seem to go in ascending order---some go in descending order. I'm having to search up and down to figure out where the thread is with the most recent date. So---whats the trick?

Anyway, I'm glad to see that the new forum look is not the result of my DSL spazzing out as it has done several times before! And, we'll have more room for posting............

Yes Colleen - it was truly miraculous. Within hours that feeling of fear and terror left me. Totally. I have been at peace with our decision to leave ever since. I still haven't had an opportunity to sit down with family members and tell them that we have left and why but I no longer feel sick at the thought of doing it. In fact I feel the opposite - quite courageous! I am amazed.

It IS glorious to think that Jesus has defeated that spirit and he has full power to remove it at our request! And having experienced it personally verifies that fact.

I also want to express my appreciation to Colleen and Richard Tinker for making this website available to former and struggling Adventists. This forum was a great help when my wife and I transitioned out of Adventism into orthodox Christianity.

Truly, the arrival of online religion is as consequential as when printing presses brought the written word to medieval Europe. Information is a tool that empowers and enriches the lives of even the lowest social class. The Internet was a significant and valuable tool in our quest for truth.

As some of you may already know, my wife spent five days in the hospital recently. Our Sunday School class at First Evangelical Free Church, known as the LIFE TRACK CLASS, brought a delicious, full-course meal to our home this evening. This charitable gesture was very thoughtful, helpful, and much appreciated at this time. Our new church family is treating us like royalty. Thankfully, Sylvia is feeling much better now.
