On ellenwhite.org there was an article about problems in the caribbean (http://ellenwhite.org/news/n20031214.htm). It cites the report is from "mirror". Does anyone who who/what "mirror" is? I tried doing a search on the web for a mirror magazine and didn't get anything that looked related to the article. I'm curious if it is denominationally related or not... The story was pretty specific to adventism, so seemed some association might be there...

Just checking, though. I like to know where things come from rather than blindly accepting them.

Melissa,

I tried to help you. I did some searches under "mirror" and "derson charles". One thing I came up with was a website in Trinidad (is Trinidad in or near the Caribbean?). Sorry I didn't write down the website address.

I noticed that I was getting the same websites when I did searches under both "mirror" and Derson Charles.

Some clues that will hopefully help you, because I'm out of time for now, is mazazines such as "The Mirror Review" and "Times Mirror." Also, here are two website addresses that have indexes for "mirror" magazines (whatever that means). I also noticed that alot of the searches were coming up in the UK (both for mirror and for Derson Charles)

The website addresses for the "mirror" indexes:

ftp.rediris.es
sunsite.redir.es

Talk to you later. God bless you!

I think the "Mirror" is their local newspaper (or something very similar).

Thanks, Dennis, that helped. Yes, Trinidad IS in the Caribbean!

Melissa,

I found the website for the mirror newspaper in Trinidad:

www.tntnews.net

AND you can even e-mail Charles Derson (or Derson Charles) at:

dersoncharles@tntnews.net

I also found another match under "charles derson" after finding the mirror newspaper in Trinidad (I did the search for Charles Derson in the TNT Website ITSELF), but was having trouble loading the site due to technical difficulties.

It is:

www.chutneystar.com/friday/apr19/story06.htm

Have fun! :-)

I feel old and out of touch. Years ago there was a daily newspaper in Trinidad called "The Daily Mirror". I read the article you mentioned Melissa, and find it believable.

Sad to say, but I attended Caribbean Union College for four years. At the time I was extremely naive. However, even in my naivette, I know about lots of unsavory dealings within the administration.

When I graduated, in 1982,I felt a heavyness in my spirit that I could neither explain nor shake.

I have said enough. Mellisa, believe me, the story is true.

The Daily Mirror is also a rather sensational tabloid newspaper in the UK. That is nothing to do with the Caribbean or with Adventism, but may explain the search results.
