AA,

^^Folkenberg can invest 8 million and lose it,
my question is, did he lose his money or the
tithe?^^

Folkenberg had money? Get real. He was a
poor preacher till he got into an administrative
position in Central America from which post of
advantage to purloin his way into ever bigger
grubstakes!

payroll?^^

Now that IS funny! Answer: "no-squawk parrot"
money.

Good question: "How can one get a job like
this?"

Better question: Are not such jobs reserved for
people EXACTLY like this?

(Except the really good ones don't get caught.
Poor Fallen-Bird! Oops, I mean Folken-Berg!)

What about his pal Mr. McClure, he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and he stayed a long time after. But the guy that blew the whistle on these two got fired. He saved the organization a lot of tithe, got fired for doing it.

I do declare, AA, you're like Martin Luther in
Rome.

Or, better, Jack Nicholson in Chinatown.

Hey, I'm weak from laughter. Gotta sleep it off.

G'night all,

Thanks Andrew & Max for the enlightenment.

Yeah, why are the SDAs holding $61 million in the bank? Are the top dogs trying to get their hands on it? I understand the SDA organization has no accountability -- no outside audits are conducted and only limited financial disclosure is made to constituents. If the SDA leaders believe the end of the world is so near, then why are they hoarding this money? Are they going to let it burn up at the end or let the Pope get it? Maybe they plan to use this money on more multi-million dollar lawsuits to squelch other groups from using their tradmarked SDA name.

It continues to amaze me that the SDA organization has so little compassion and concern for its members. There are virtually no caring ministries, youth programs (other than SDA schools of which only 20% of SDA kids attend), programs to build up families, etc. I guess they would rather hoard the tithe blood money than use it to help someone.

At least they got the last drop of blood money out of me quite some time ago.

Does anyone know how many SDA administrators are employed by the organization? And what does this army of administrators do?

Andrew -- what is SECC? Do you work for the SDA organization? Tell us what else you know.

SECC, Southeastern California Conference of SDA's.

To tell you all I know it would take more than this forum could hold. But I would love to get to meet some of my friends here and talk about these issues. Are any of you in Southern California?

Oh, by the way, in the Pacific Union Recorder, Feb. 2001, artical How the Tithe Dollar is Spent, by Gordon Botting, I quote "According to 1999 financial data received from the North American Division, $610,215,571 tithe dollars were gathered into the storehouse.

This is a good report of what they spend, but on what, I don't know.

Probably lots and lots of franchises of Boney's now called Henry's. Uptown markets chuck full of plastic meats and psuedo cheese. hehe :)

Also consider the cost of all the huts being built in India, China, Russia et-cetera. Hay costs money don't ya know.

Bless you,

I recently e-mailed the GC asking for information on why they do not hire and independent (non SDA) CPA to preform audits. They e-mailed me back and basically said a non-sda could not discern the internal policy of the sacred restrictions on tithe money.?.?.?

Well excusssssssse me, but my accounting firm audits financial institutions that have different internal policies and we are intellegent enough to read the policy and make sure that the loans ect. are being booked according to policy and all the applicable government regs to boot.

I ask HOW STUPID DO THEY THINK PEOPLE ARE????
Sorry, I will sit down now and replace the broken window in my living room.:):):)

Hello Andrew,

Unfortunately, there are many who do believe everything they hear.

Violet, are your windows repaired by now? :) I thought that it took some guts on your part to ask that question of the GC. What else surprises me is the fact that they answered you!

God Bless you Both,
your sister in our Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ our God

If everyone who specilazed in an area would keep on top of them (GC) they would not be able to get away with this. The proplem lies in that one or two complain and then they are ganged up on because how dare you question the "highest authority on earth" next to God.

Hello Violet,

You know, you may be on to something here. If we all spoke out when something really slam dunks us, perhaps a miracle would happen and the GC...

Nevermind, dreaming again. Although, we can sure try and keep in mind to pray.

God Bless you Violet,
DtB, your sister in Jesus the Christ, our God.

The same thing goes for the Adventist school systems. They are not accredited by any standards other than themselves. They are held accountable to no other standard but their own.

The Adventist school where I live is pitiful!!! Their first grade program consists of what other programs, accredited by other standards, do in pre-school. When my child entered first grade there they began the year doing what he had done in 4 year old pre-school, I was appalled.

However, you begin to realize this is a way to keep those people "inside the Adventist" program. Without tutoring to catch them up these children simply can not change from Adventist education to another private school and remain in the same grade level. They simply are too far behind.

Adventist is all about exclusion. You have your own schools and colleges. They encourage communities of Adventist by having boarding schools in high school. This way your children are totally encompassed with Adventist at school, at work, at play. The boarding school I went to even had a convenience store across the street owned by Adventist. You have Adventist libraries, grocery stores, all aspects of life can be met by a local Adventist.

We live within thirty miles of an Adventist University. The University even controls the neighborhood. If someone wants to sell their home, the college buys it and then re-sells it in order to control the religious affiliation of those who live there.

In these types of atmospheres you really have to go out of your way (leave town) to find an attitude other than Adventist.
