I quote "I heard that the SDA church is going to be disbanning sometime next time year. The reasons sited are:
1.)Lack of membership increases
2.) doctrinal differences and
3.)General spiritual decline.......... anyone else heard of this?"

A follow up message as well, where I want to point out a few things.

I quote "It's about time the people woke up. It's only too bad it had to be over defense of the SDA church and not the issues that are dividing it. Bob, this was told to me by someone who is very much anti-SDA so it is not correct, I simply wanted to see if anyone would get up off the pew and respond since no one seems to be responding to anything else, far to often too many are in a state of confusion over their loyalty to the SDA church and not to the Father.
In regards to what xxxxxx posted, he/she is the perfect example of misguided loyalty and blinded trust in a man made establishment.Dear friends you are not correct when you state that the SDA church is alive and thriving and has doubled in the last 10 years. I speak to SDA's all over the world and I find the same statement from most of them, I would dare say about 8 out of 10...... "My church is dying, how can it be saved"? Does that sound like a 'thriving" church? Not to me.
Here are the official stats from the SDA GC official web site:
1990 - Churches - 31,654 members - 6,694,880
Drops and Misses - 119,886

1999 - Churches 46,740 - members - 10,939,182
Drops and Misses - 182,003

So your close SDA2000 with the statement of the church doubling in the last ten years, the current number for the SDA church is at 12million, but the site has not been updated obviously. Now with a church boasting of those types of numbers why are so many un happy with their church? I recently went to Tennessee for a visit and talked to several leaders of local churches and the reaction was the same..... "we need to be revived.. the people dont have any desire to witness it seems" The one pastor's church had a membership of 500 he claims that only about 150 are in regular attendance. another with a membership of 300 says about 100. We may have 12 million on the role sheet but how many are actually participating and how many are just sitting in the pews? This is not a call to destroy the SDA church, its doing that on its own trying to fit in with the Evangelicals. I want to see those that claim to love the Lord get off their duff and start acting like they really believe He is coming back SOOOONNNN!!!!!!! If this offends you, oh well maybe you should transfer your membership to the Roman church, they like pew warmers.
By the way XXX you know me from MSN im "XXXX".
XXXX"

I read alot of the same things from the clubs or forums, any of you been hearing these same things?

I think the Holy Spirit is moving on this organization pretty much like the majority on this web site, May God move on these people with His LOVE!

The person wrote>I would dare say about 8 out of 10...... "My church is dying, how can it be saved"?

And as well>Does that sound like a 'thriving" church? Not to me.

What are your thoughts? Is the Adventist organization dying?

And so, dear Adventist friend, what do you
think?

I think we can see a prime example of John 15. "I am the Vine, ye are the Branches.....if you read the entire chapter and think about it hard, it seems to say that if the branches don't bear fruit they are "taken away" not the same as later in the chapter where if they don't abide in Jesus they are cast into the fire. The ones which are part of the vine are taken away, I think to be nurtured and brought back to a fruit bearing state. That is certainly what happened in my case! God didn't give up, He just pointed me in a different direction. A better direction, where I am able to witness and bear fruit! Praise God!

Sabra, Dallas Holmes sung it best.

"When God CLOSES THE DOOR, look for a window!"

Gee, if this song was sung, back then, would have this denomination ever faced the CLOSED DOOR doctrine?

When I was attending the SDA church, the only ones that seemed to be thriving are the celebration churches. But they do not baptize 20-30 people every week. That is what is happening in the church I now attend.
The other SDA churches stay small and are stagnant. That has been my experience.
