Sabra, Are you in Nashville,Tennessee? I have friends who live in the forrest around 50 miles from Nashville. Maybe you can get to their place sometime and party. They have a big party every year on Labor Day called The Ragweed Festival. Also, if you are going to have more babies their midwives ae the most highly saught after midwives in the Americas. They also offer numerous self-sastaining workshops and vegan cooking classes. They also have a soy dairy and you can get all your so products from them. The place is called The Farm. It's a slew of hippies doing good. It is in Summertown, Tennessee. You can ook up their website. Also, the local Adventist Book Center sells all The Farms cookbooks and some other of their books. In return The Farm offers Loma Linda Foods and Worthington Foods through their mail order company.

As I read your messages was moved to pray for you.
I, too, have a prayer request. We've lived in this house 10 years that belongs to a foster son who said we could live here as long as we wanted to. Now he wants to sell it! We're sorting and paring down 50 years of accumulation and teaching "stuff". and trying to find a place to live at the same time. Please pray that we can find the house, orwhatever, God must have ready for us.
We don't want to move away from this friendly little desert town where we are "FREE" but where the Lord wants us, that's where we want to be.

It is so hard to have to move. What state are you in (I'm assuming you are in the USA)? I hope you soon find some place that meets your needs. As for me and my living situtaion-my fantasy is to ditch everything I own except a few basic essentials, ship my car to the jungle and live in my car and spend my days reading books, magazines and newspapers, boogying with the locals, going to church wherever and whenever I like to go to without getting lip from those who tell me I get their lip only because they know I have been taught the truth so they are concerned about my eternal salvation and living solely by if it's daytime or nighttime. I did this for several months before in the jungle only then I didn't have a car. I had to hitchhike. I hate hitchhiking. I love being homeless in the jungle. I wish I could be a vagabond.

Susan, have you read the John grisham book that came out a few years ago, (I am trying to remember the name, the Prophet? Maybe?) -If anyone knows the title for sure, let me know!!

anyway, it was different from most any other he has written. It is about an eccentric billionaire that dies and leaves his fortune, instead of to his greedy city kids, to his daughter no one knew about who lives out in the middle of the jungle somewhere in South America.
The story follows a down and out lawyer who is assigned to go down and find her to let her know that she has inherited billions of dollars. He finds her, she is a doctor who lives with and serves some villagers in the middle of nowhere. She doesn't want the money.
It is a good book! The only Grisham book I have read that I actually got interested in and finished. If you haven't read it, you should see if you can find it.

Thank you all for your prayers!

Colleen,

My husband is doing better, your prayers are very appreciated and needed. We met in Chatt.in 1990 so that is like home-his family is there-we got stuck in Nashville since 1997 and were really excited about going back when we did 10/02 it was going great until he lost that job in 2/03 and by 6/03 I had to go back to work.

Salary there is about 1/2 what it is here. Doesn't make sense, it's only 2 1/2 hours away and housing is about the same.

Anyways we are really praying so we'll just wait and see.

Hey Queary- You could buy my house! LOL Praying for you to find one.

Susan, I actually live in Columbia-south of Nashville, but no one knows where that is. Summertown is only about 30 min. from here. Not much there, for sure!

Diana, I'm so happy for you and all the Lord is doing for you.

Love you all,
Sabra

Qweary, I have and will continue to pray for you and your family. God knows what you need and he will provide it. Packing is the pits. I get annoyed when things are not done in my time, but things get done in his time, which is the best any way. I continue to pray for everyone else who has asked for prayers.

I have more good news to share with you. My son, when I spoke to him today, thanked me for not raising him in the strict traditional SDA way. I cried over that one. I had told him about being re baptized and that since I decided to be baptized that God has taken my compulsion. He was happy for me. Then he told me that he goes to the base church on Sundays because when he has visited one church the preacher was telling people how to vote. He wants a church that teaches only the Bible. He does not attend the SDA church where he is. I take it he has not visited many churches. So I told him I would pray for him and that he should ask God about a church.
As you can tell I am very happy Mother. God has been so good and is truly an AWESOME GOD.

What branch of the service is your son in? Be sure to extend a special greeting of thanks for his service this 4th of July, our Independence Day. I have two sons in the military. One in the Navy and one in the Coast Guard. Unfortunatelly my oldest son, the father of my grandchildren seems to have no clue of the goofy doctrines and cult behaiors of the SDA church and its people. I did send him to SDA Sabbath School when he was a little boy and to campmeeting and to summer camp. But, he always went to public school and associated socially with his public school friends. So, now he has little children of his own and is unaware of how truly abnormal SDA's and the religion is. I sometimes wonder if a little knowledge is worse than a lot because with a teensy bit of knowledge a person just can't be aware of the whole picture. I think this is how it is with my oldest son regarding the SDA religion. In fact, this is the way it was with me regarding the JW religion. Until I married a man whose relatives are mostly JW and I could see close up for myself what a damaging cult it is I just had a tiny bit of knowledge of the JW cult and therefore was not a radical against it, as I now am. The minister at the Lutheran church where I attend honestly thought the SDA church was a regular mainstream Christian church only preferred to hold its worship on Saturdays until me and another man in the congreation who had been raised SDA took the minister aside and set him stright. A little knowledge of something can be a dangerous thing. I am happy it worked out for your son.

Sabra, thanks for filling out the details for us. I'll continue to pray about your situation.

Qweary, I'll also pray that God will direct you and your wife to the place where He wants you to be. What a disappointing, difficult situation!

I don't know if this is a prayer request or a prayer of thanks. I believe it is both. The cops came and took my youngest child to jail. We have some very vicious, mean cops in this town and I'd been praying that when the cops came to get my son that one of the few nice, decent ones would be the ones to do it. It was, a true answer to prayer. My son needs to get back on his psycharactic medicine and keep taking it as he's supposed to. The past several days here have been total hell with him. He paces back and forth all day and all night muttering to himself about all the people who are out to get him. He frequenly goes onto the upstairs balcony to scan the neighborhood to try o see who is watching him. He works himself up into a frenzy and bangs his head eithor with his fists or against the walls until his head has bruses. Several weeks ago he go out the kitchen knives and sliced up his arm. He says he knows my oldest sons wife when no one else is around takes the children aside and she tells them to grow up hateing him. I tell him that is not true, that we all want him to have a wonderful uncle relatioship with his brothers children but he won't believe it. He thinks everyone is out to get him, etc. I guess it is time tha I start going to the meetings for parents of adult children who have diagnosed paranoid schritzpherenia. I know they will take good care of him at the county jail. Our local jail works quite closely with County Mental Health. I am so tired and worn down from this so please keep me, too in your prayers. I have dark bags under my eyes from all this drama. Now maybe I can get some rest.

Susan, I can imagine what a trying time you have had. I do remember you and your sons in my prayers.
My son escaped lots of what Adventism teaches not only because I did not raise him in the strict SDA tradition, but he read a lot on his own and, thank God, he met a minister at the Celebration SDA church who preached Christ and not the traditional SDA "stuff". This preacher eventually left the SDA church and when my son was home from school, he gathered with the group that left with the pastor.
God had his hand on us from the very beginning and I am amazed how God has led us. I thought it was me who did not raise my son in the traditional SDA way, but it was God all the way. It was God who got me into a 12 step program to teach me how much the Father loves me and cares for me. It was God who told me how to raise my son. It was God who put a dislike for EGW in me that made me walk out of church when she was mentioned. Like I said it was God all the way.
He is truly an awesome God.

Susan, I also pray for you and your family. I really do encourage you to join a family support group, and praise God for providing for you this far: He arranged for a kind policeman to make the arrest, He has arranged for your son to be kept under a watchful eye and medicated, He has released you from the fear and craziness of living with such an out-of-control person--He is bringing you the possibility of your getting support yourself, and He has given you a time of peace in which you can focus on growing in Him and in truth.

Praise Him!

Susan,

I also keep you in prayer.

Good news, maybe.

We have had oppression long enough! My husband's truck blew up about a month ago, well a little more, and he has been renting a truck and that is so expensive. He called today about a job in Nashville doing what he used to do in Chattanooga--managing an office that sells food, but a different office that has been established for longer and doing better financially.

They told him that they had heard of him from the previous job he had there in Chattanooga and that they would love for him to work for them in their Chattanooga office! Did you just read that? Then they asked if he would be interested in management which provides a company truck!

I'm so excited I could hardly work all day! I'm hoping this is the answer we've been praying for, I fasted half the day yesterday (I'm a terrible faster) maybe God honored my 2 meal fast.

He went down today to talk to them more. I'll keep you all updated.

Love you and prayers for all!

Another prayer request:
I am in the middle of opening a business and need medical insurance. Please pray that I find it.
I know God will provide. He always does.
