I just received the newest Proclamation! today. It looks wonderful. The only article I have had time to read (between trips to swim practice and play time at the park) was the preview of Dale's new book. Is the title to the book First Things First? Is the whole subject matter a study of transitioning SDA's?

Did I read somewhere on the forum that Greg Taylor has a book out? Is it through Dale's website?

Yes, I understand that Greg Taylor's new book is being published through Life Assurance Ministries.

Dale's book is not yet complete, and he has not given a projected date of completion. Greg's book has been published through Life Assurance Ministries Publications which is a separate corporation from Life Assurance Ministries. (I realize most people don't know there are two entities.) The publishing business sells books; Life Assurance Ministries is non-profit. They are both accessed through Dale's website.

Greg and Paula Taylor's story, in the story section of this forum, is wonderfully written. I am looking forward to reading his book. Thanks for the info.

ANOTHER GREAT ISSUE!!!

Within hours of arriving at our house, both Sheryl and I had read it cover to cover and were discussing many of the points. I didn't think it was possible, but the second part of Jeff Helsius' letter was even more powerful than the first. We both knew Jeff from our days at AU and were already considering other people that we have stayed in touch with that know Jeff to whom we might forward the articles. Jeff's testimony is so clear and so Bible-centered that it should cause any honest person to start asking some serious questions.

To steal a tagline from Diane "God is awesome!"

I GOT THIS ISSUE!!!!! As soon as I could I sat down and read it cover to cover. Where can I get the issue I missed?? I want to read Jeff's first part also. When I read these things I want to tell everyone how awesome God is. I want to warn people about Adventism also. I will share Proclamation with my sister, who lives near me. Pray with me, for her, that she will want to know only Jesus. And again I say God is awesome.
Diana
PS Thanks Dale, Colleen and all the staff on Proclamation. You are doing a wonderful work.

Diana, email your mailing address to Proclamation@gmail.com, and I'll send you the last issue. I'm sorry you missed it--things should be on track now.

I also thoroughly enjoyed this issue. It made a couple of significant points for me...how can someone given the detailed arguments as the 2 part letter ignore what seems to be obvious before their eyes? Surely they cannot all dismiss it as anger or hurt feelings??? Second was the letter to Dale, which he calmly responded to (at least in the tone of his responses). Those who put their names and their faces in the public square against this foe are easy prey for numerous negative attacks and I have not been as diligent in prayer as I should have been. I am so thankful for those who have the courage to follow their convictions against all odds and share their journey in the process. I'm reminded of the email story I've read called "wordless testimony". A pastor stops by a member's home who just doesn't think church attendance is important any more. They visit briefly, and the pastor takes the man's fireplace poker and separates the burning logs. Within a short time, the logs which once burned brightly together now dim and the fire seems to be dying. But the pastor then moves the logs together again, and the fire rekindles burning brightly and providing warmth... The pastor stood to leave and the man said he would be in church on Sunday.

Thanks to all those who share your stories and situations as well as those who support those of us from the outside with our questions and wounded hearts. It is a pleasure to "know" all of you and I look forward to our face-to-face someday

My current Proclamation came and I must say I'm very impressed. What I especially enjoyed about this issue was the courage it took for pastors and leaders to leave and the thread that ran throughout their stories that it wasn't until after they had given notice/been fired or whatever that they really started to see God working and moving.

I believe this stepping out in faith is absolutely key to successfully disengaging from the demonic hold of Adventism. And I would venture to guess it's also where so many people that God wants to use in other capacities get hung up and never have the courage of their convictions to leave. So I offer a special salute to those who left while employed by any Adventist church or institution.

Praise God...

I ordered several books this week from LAM. How long does it take before I'll get them?

I'd give them at least a week--maybe a bit more. They come "media mail" class. While that's the least expsensive, it's also the slowest way---!

PraiseGod--I agree with your statement that stepping out in faith is key to disengaging from the demonic hold of Adventism. Once God has convicted us of His will for us and of the truth, if we don't follow Him in obedience, we become double-minded--the kind of person James labels "unstable" (James 1:8) and calls to repentance (James 4:8).

The good news is that however scary God's call to us is, His power is made perfect in our weakness! (2 Corinthiasn 12:9)

Wow, it appears that this time I got my copy of Proclamation before the rest of you have started discussing it!

Great job, Colleen. God is blessing you mightily. I found your cover article to be highly important for us formers, especially those of us who have gotten past the Sabbath issues etc.

I have a question. How much is the actual cost of sending out a subscription to Proclamation? I don't want to add names to the role without offering some compensation so I'd just like to get an idea of what's involved. And how many issues per year are you doing now?

Praise God...

We are still doing six issues a year (although in 2005 we'll have seven issues because we're still getting out the Nov/Dec. edition). We have deliberately not set a subscription price because we want anyone who might benefit to be able to get Proclamation.

God has been graciously and faithfully providing for this ministry through free-will donations, and we are in continual amazement at how He blesses Life Assurance Ministries. The LAM board has taken the position that God provides for His work without our having drives for funds, and He has blessed us in ways that clearly are His sovereign grace.

If you wish to make a donation, you can use the envelope inside Proclamation. But by all means, please send the names of those you wish to receive the magazine whether or not you send a donation!

We praise God for His faithfulness and for the fact that the cattle on a thousand hills are HisóHe provides for His work with power and provisions for which we cannot take credit. He is awesome!

Colleen, I have read your "Breath" article several times. IT IS FABULOUS! Thank you for making it so easy and comfortable to read. It all makes such perfect sense. I had thought about the genetic factor (Jesus being born from a sinful mother) but it always blew my mind and I never could get anywhere. I love knowing that Jesus was born with His Spirit alive - much like at Pentecost and our receiving the Holy Spirit...it clearly cleans up so much SDA "truths" from my cluttered little brain. It gives me a renewed love for the Spirit within me who makes my own spirit alive!

Colleen,

Sylvia and I have been happily married for 36 years, but when PROCLAMATION magazine arrives we really find it difficult to determine who gets to read it first. We have literally kept the knowledge of having received the latest issue from each other--until one or the other finishes reading it first (smile). Are we the only ones with this unique problem?

No Dennis, you aren't alone! Sheryl (Raven) and I have the same problem. Especially if it comes on a Saturday. Otherwise she usually picks up the mail before I get home and I have to wait for her to finish. The issues only keep getting better. Thanks Colleen!

How does a person get "Proclamation"? I get it maybe 1 or 2 times a year. I would love to get it all the time.
