Dd, her blocked arteries are on the heart or going to the heart. She was told her chest had to "cracked open". That term really scared her. When she is here Saturday, we will do some research on my computer.
Thank you for remembering her in your prayers.

Diana,
Then that is something entirely different. But, I still believe knowledge is key.

I'm still praying for her and also for you.

I have a very important prayer request. My son has to leave next week. He will be gone at least four months. He is leaving on a potentally dangerous assignment. He will be allowed no contact with any family member until mid-September. He will be in great harm during these next four months. His wife has very poor English language skills. I am hoping to be able to spend a day or two each week with her and the children. She is a very young wife. The children are very young children and the baby boy is in intense physical therapy and is very delayed physically so I hope I can be a great help to his family while he is gone.

Susan_2, How is the baby boy? How is your daughter in law doing? I have them and your son on my prayer list.
About my friend Vonnie. She is having open heart surgery on Tuesday, August 10. Please keep her in your prayers. She really appreciates them. I will be going to see her on Wednesday and will take her all your prayers. I have asked someone from my church to stop by and see her also. She was amenable to that.
God is so good and so awesome.

Diana, I sometimes wish we had physical addresses so I could send things like get-well cards, etc. to the folks mentioned for prayer requests. Is there someone that would be willing to get a po box who could forward notes, cards, etc. and keep private information confidential? Just today my son asked me to get him some penpals for while he's in prison. He really is quite a Bible scholar. Unfortunatelly drugs get the best of him sometimes and he ends up incarcerated. Then he gets out, does real good for a while and then ends up going back. Everytime though I hope and pray that it will be his last time. I sure hope your friends surgery goes well. I have never had surgery. It sounds so scary. I haven't seen the granchildren in over a month. The boy was holding onto the furniture and could stand holding on for a minute or so last time I was with him. My son says the boy is letting go now and standing a bit of time before landing on the floor. That baby sure has deterrmination! It's furstrating for him because he sees his twin sister running and playing and dancing. His biggest problem seems to be with the facial muscles. He does not coo or make the baby sounds and he cannot chew. His physical therapist works with him quite dilligently to get those facial muscles going. He is in therapy an hour each day. It tires the little guy out. He trys so hard. He knows when the therapist comes it's his special time. He also sees his twin sister eating everythng, drinking out of a cup and singing and saying real words. It is good that he is a real little trooper. Yep! That's my boy! (Can you tell that I just think my baby grandson if probably the most wonderful person on the face of the earth?) Aren't you a physical therapist? My little guys therapist has his speciality for children between birth and age three. The therapist told me that 90% of the children that have the problems my sweet grandson has are the second born twin. That just seems exhorbitant to me! Thank-you for asking. I want to say too, while I'm thinking about it that I do also keep your prayer requests in my prayers. I also sit in front of my machine and with pensil and paper jot down the Bible texts you all refer to and look them up for myself. I have learned so much from you folks on here and I appriciate that. Thank-you for that, too.

Susan,
I am an occupational therapist. I have done a lot of work with children and had fantastic results, but I do not work with them any longer. So I am always interested in how the kids are doing. Maybe when I open my own business, I will see children. I will pray about it.
I can tell you are a very proud grandmother. That one I understand very well. My grandson is 1 year of age and is a doll, is adorable and mine.
Hopefully I will have good news to print on here tomorrow. I just want the official offer before I print it.
God is so good and so awesome. I can never express that enough.

This is a new one. At least I haven't heard it here. This weekend, for the first time in recorded history, the same state is due to be hit with TWO Catagory four hurricanes, within two weeks. A large section of Central Florida is cleaning up from hurricane Charley, which came aboard two weeks ago Friday. Now Frances is headed for the other side of the state, and is roughly three times the size and moving very slowly, meaning much more devestating wind and rain. Problem is that a large part of the state that was hit last time, is in line to be hit even harder, this time. Millions are being evacuated. The losses in life and property could be devastating for people who are left completely unprotected by damage caused only two weeks ago. Where I live, we were in the projected direct path of Charley, but he turned at the "last minute" and changed course. This time, we are again in the bullseye. We are inland, so our damage, if any, will be small compared to those nearer to the coast.

Please pray God's grace for those who have suffered so much and will probably suffer even more in a few days.

God is good. One of the blessings of the storm is that church teams doing relief work in the last path area have led many to Christ, as part of their work. All things really DO work for good. Sometimes though, it is SO hard to see that when you have lost so much.

We are always in HIS grip!

I will add to my prayers all in Florida who are bracing for the impending storm. That God will intercede for the protection of His people, and that He will use even the bad, for His glory.

Praising Him for His love and care

We are really praying for this one. My mom, step-dad, sister and family, cousin and family and aunt and uncle are there in Orlando and surrounding areas. It is not looking good from the news today.

I have a forum friend that is in the shambles of Charlie and she and her husband are on their way to GA to get away from this one.

Praying that God will use it to His Glory and draw men to Him and spare lives.

I'm also praying, Thomas. As someone prayed for me earlier this week, we can know that no matter what happens, God is in control. I'm praying for safety/protection, and for people to come to know Jesus.

I thank you all for your prayers. There is only so much preparation we can do. Once in a while I get this sinking feeling in my stomach and have to slow down and pray for God's peace. My mom lives right across a huge Assemblies of God church and they have open their doors for the elderly. I thought that would be a safer place for my mom. She told me "I can't go there, you know they are spiritualist, I am afraid to be with them" that really floored me, then I remember that at one time I was also afraid to go to their churches or even pray with them.
Thanks again for your prayers

Hi everyone, I'm sending my prayers for all your requests. It's amazing how powerful prayer is.

Thomas, I'm also in Florida... Today was gorgeous, sunny and calm. It's hard to believe this hurricane is coming. My husband & I considered leaving, but then we thought the roads may be blocked with trees, so it might be too hard to get back and make sure our house was okay. So we're staying and we may have to go in the basement for a while!

This 2nd hurricane in 3 weeks has inspired inner reflection for me... thinking that the house or possessions may be damaged or lost just reminds me of what is truly important. We can always replace material things and we shouldn't be so attached to them anyway. What is truly important is our relationship with Christ and the love we share with family and friends.

We're all praying that everyone will be safe and divinely guided and we appreciate your prayers! :-)

My family and friends are directly in the path of this storm. My parents are holed up in a shelter in West Palm Beach right now. I haven't heard from them since Thursday night. My in-laws are up the coast in Port St. Lucie... they refused to evacuate. Lots of prayers going that way.

We still have plenty of sun here in Alabama at the moment, tho the clouds are definitely with us as well...and that sticky tropical breeze has arrived as well.

I am always fascinated watching the news interviews of people who have been in the path of these storms. One will fall apart weeping that their lives are over, or showing anger at what has happened. Then another will make the observation that what they lost was just stuff, and since the Lord gave it to them to start with, He can give it to them again. amazing.

Anyway, praying for those of you who live near the coast. I know after Opal came through, we spent a week just dealing with the rubble, no water or electricity for several days, couldn't flush for a week. The whole experience was exhausting and stressful....hard to even relax enough to sit down and eat a meal sometimes. So, please keep these folks in prayer AFTER they return home as well.

One of the things that causes stress, and something you likely wouldn't think about if you haven't been through these experiences, is the messed up communication. When you go through a time of being unable to contact friends or family to check on their well-being, you suddenly know that you really could live without your stuff, but losing those you love.... So lets add to our prayers that they are divinely enabled to get in touch with people.

I have been praying for all of you as I have a brother and his 3 children and 2 grandchildren in/near New Port Richey.
I have another special request. I have a friend from church who has been on disabiity and soon that fund will stop. She is 61, her name is Alice and she has no savings, no retirement or anything. Please pray for her. I told her about you folks and she said it was okay to mention her name and ask for prayers. It is of interest to me that she is going to the LLU school of dentistry to get some dental work done. She knows I am former SDA. She was familiar with them having read some of their doctrine. She never got pulled in because when they mentioned the keeping of the sabbath, she pulled back. Any way, please remember her in your prayers.
God is awesome.

I remember all of you on the East Coast from Florida north in my prayers.
I have a brother and his wife in New Port Richey, FL with their 3 children and 2 grandchildren. We have not heard from any of them. My youngest sister has not been able to contact him.
In Matthew it says I am with you always. God is still in charge, even with the hurricanes.
He is awesome.
Diana
