Hrob ---

I am originally from Huntsville.. and I am dating an SDA... can I email you? He may be coming with me to see my grandmother who still lives there.. I understand that you are still learning but our experiences are so similar in addition to living in Ala.

I guess that I will buy Cultic Doctrine with hopes that it gets to C's mind.. Not very hopeful given that he rejected all but the EGW parts of Greg's book..

Hopeless but still fighting. I guess.

He may come around in God's time. Is he willing to read? If he reads Cultic Doctirine with an open mind I guarantee you will se some difference in him.

Tracey, B read Cultic Doctrine, and the only thing he said about it was that he had proved it from his own personal study of the bible and he didn't care what Dale had to say. Not to be a downer...just to level off unrealistic hope.... I truly understand your feelings.

Well,

C and I had a long talk this weekend. He doesn't want us to go separate ways. We agreed though that we need to be friends on a greater level and pull back being so serious. I completely agreed. Then we prayed and oddly, he asked Jesus into his heart (??) confessed his sins and acknowledged that he died for them.

I don't know what that means if anything.. he has always believed in Jesus.. Unless it's that SDA thing about not being sure of one's salvation or maybe he is trying to start afresh with a new mindset when approaching the Lord.. Do you think that he has recognized that he doesn't *know* Jesus the way he thought he did?

Hrob said not to push him anymore and let him come to me with questions. So i didn't ask anything. But I did tell him, I was open to talk about "it" all whenever he was ready and if he had any questions, I would be happy to help.

Then we started our bible study.. We are gonna start at Matthew as HHriob suggested and read the entire NT as a story.. Thank you for your prayers!

Love you guys !

Tracey,
I just had to smile when I read about your confusion with C's prayer when he asked Jesus into his heart. Bet you thought he'd already done that a long time ago, and he probably has--many times! The SDA mindset is to ask Jesus into your heart at least daily if not more often, or at least especially when you're feeling really serious about God. It probably has something to do with making sure you're current on your salvation status. I hate to admit it, but I still find myself doing that, and I know better now!

Tracey and Raven,
My parents (who have worked for the SDA church all their lives) have always said in their prayers, "...may You find us worthy when You come again..."

VERY, VERY sad!

We're NOT worthy! We're NOT worthy!

Who knew there was such truth in Wayne's World after all!

Tracey,
I continue to pray for you and C. I cannot tell what is going on in his mind so all I can do is pray for him and you.
I hope you are going to use a modern English version of the Bible or use two different modern English versions. You read one and he read the other. I like the NIV put out by Zondervan. Take a look at it.
But, please do not hold your breath waiting for him. Only God knows what is in his heart.
Love you two and pray every day for you two.
God is awesome.

"Truth from Wayne's World."
Excellent!

ROTFL. Thanks!

But so true. That is the wonderous beauty of God's grace. We aren't worthy. We will never be worthy. But He is. And He died for the unworthy like us! To me, this is the joy and wonder and awe that is missing from SDAism. The knowledge of how big God's grace really is.

AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! RIC_b. That Jesus died for me is so awesome, I do not understand it. I never really knew what God's grace was about as an SDA and now I am still learning. I look forward to learning more in heaven when I can meet each of you. Each of you will be a friend I have not seen for a long time. God is so awesome.

I have to share a dream that the Lord gave me. And then I understood why I can't let C go.. Although, that doesn't mean that I can't change the nature of our relationship..
I shared it with Hrob.. He believes it's the beginning of my ministry in some respects.
The Dream:
I was in a car with C and two other people. We were driving down a road and there was a lot of traffic. So we drove around and found another road. So we are driving on the road and we look to our left and there is a perpendicular intersection (It's like a T and we are the top of the letter T driving)
So we look to our left and there are tons of cars! Literally the largest multi lane highway you have ever seen.. More than in L.A. Easily 10 lanes going the same way. and in each lane there is approx. 100 cars down.. As far as you could see.. Cars everywhere! The cars were then blocked by barricades from coming onto the road that we were on.

Someone in the car says "Look! all those cars and
Didn't we pick the right road! All those cars are on the wrong road.. But not me, I thought to myself, No, why are those barricades up? Why are all those other cars on that side of the street? We are the only ones over here.."

When I turn my head to look out the front window, before I could say anything, there is a GIANT sinkhole in the road! and We drove right into this giant hole. The hole was so large that it was able to swallow the entire car and it went deep into the center of the EArth!

I gasped and the car fell so far down and I was soo frightened. I was in a car falling into the center of the earth and it was real! We fell so far, that I was able to cry out IN THE NAME OF JESUS a total of 4 times! By the 4th cry out, the car, fell just a little softer to a landing that I and C survived.
I fought to get out of the car and as I quickly looked around at where I was, the entire place was black. And there was fire all around us, nearby and far away. It was not small in there but large. Very large and deep and black but filled with fires everywhere.

I grabbed C's hand and said C'mon C-- We've got to get out of here. Come on!! I grabbed him by the hand and I saw a way out. He got out of the car with my help. But the other two people had no response. I assumed that they died but I didn't know for sure.
As we began to climb upwards, I looked up I saw the heavens.. A beautiful blue sky with white clouds and I knew that there was a way out.
I woke up with remembering C and I climbing out of the center of the earth to safety.

I have to tell you, I have had a few dreams so fearful and this one is one of the greatest. I was so nervous to tell C but I managed to without crying. He asked me, "Did we get out?" He looked so puzzled and worried. I told him how the dream ended. and that I believed we did. He didn't ask what it meant, but I think he knew and wasn't ready to hear it. He also asked if the others survived. I told him only what I saw in the dream and that was that that they were unresponsive.

I cried for a couple of days about this dream when I thought of all those people in the cars protected and on the right side of the road and there was nothing they could do but watch the car drive right into the hole (which you couldn't see until you got right up on it) And they thought they were soo on the right side of the road. They were wrong and they weren't protected by the barricades. And they died believing that they were right. I just weeped even when I told the story. Please never cease praying daily for the souls.

I can't give up on C. I may be his only hope out, as in the only person that truly knows the Lord in his life. I have to be an example. More than my relationship, I have to be ready for when he's ready. I believe the Lord doesn't want me to give up. He is a soul that needs to know the truth more than our relationship. I think then he can help others.

WOW!! What a dream. I will continue to pray for you and C, but, please, do not do anything impulsive. Always ask God what He wants you to do. He will answer you.
Take care young lady, I do care about you and C.

Tracy, I continue to pray for you and C. What an impacting dream!

Let God clearly lead, Tracey--I want to echo Diana's words above: do not do anything impulsive!

God will lead you.

Nothing impulsive.. I promise. I won't be solely led by my feelings. Swayed sometimes : ) But I will not ignore or dismiss God's leading.

Thanks for caring!
