Hey guys,

We agreed to stop having sex before the wedding. But we found out that she was pregnant. So we kind of sped up the process. I feel really good about it especially since she says she is leaving the SDA church. Everyone from my job and her family members were there at the courthouse with cameras and Krispy Kreme doughnuts and hot chocolate. I am excited. Instead of a june 5, 2005 wedding, we are getting a July 26, 2005 baby.

Oh yeah,

I am going to post this new cult or religion for you all. My brother emailed it to me so check it out and tell me what you think.

here is the link.

Oh, If you are wondering why so soon, I wanted to get her on my insurance so we can get her to a doctor Friday.

Congratulations, Hrob! My prayers will be with you both. Please continue to keep us posted! God redeems the past, and He can create something beautiful out of surrendered regrets. Marriage and parenhood are wonderful--and when you invite the Holy Spirit into your marriage, He blesses it beyond your expectations.

Congratualtions!

Another comment HRob...please encourage your wife to come on this forum for support. I don't remember your particular situation, but if I remember right you're not or never have been SDA??? If that's true, believe me (my husband has never been SDA,) it's really important she have some former SDAs to support her, in addition to your support. There's so much baggage we have that sometimes only another former SDA can understand.

Just a suggestion.....congratulations again!!!

Love and prayers to all, Carol2

HRob! Congratulations! Please keep us up-to-date on all the happenings. You will always have love and support from me and I am sure I am speaking for many other of our friends here on the forum.

I think Carol 2's suggestion of encouraging your wife to join you on this forum is excellent. I have been on this journey of transitioning and cutting the religous umbilical (and unbiblical!) cord for about 7 years now. I have many, many Christian friends that I share with and who give me support, but none of it can compare to the love and encouragement given to me by those who have walked some of the same paths.

Please allow me to give you a little more of my "motherly" advice and wisdom...I want to tell you that when my husband and I got married, we suffered through our wedding because of parent's disapproval. Looking back, we wish we would have skipped the wedding ceremony (like you two did) and said verbablly to family, "We love each other. We are now each other's family. All of you are are welcome to be a part of our family because we love you. BUT...if you are unable to support our family with your unconditional love, we ask that you step away until you feel you can. Remember that we will always welcome you into our lives and into our family."

Whatever you do, Hrob, love Jesus first and love each other second---and let your extended family see your love in that order. Hang tough together in Jesus!

Congratulations, and I pray for a spirit filled marriage and life for you, your wife, and the child that will soon bless your home.

I read through a portion of that website that you mentioned and I got to a point when I was thinking what a kook the founder was, then I read a statement that the founder was not only comparing himself to the prophets of old, but he also compares himself to, and considers himself to be equal to the Savior.

He seems to believe in justification by faith, but he adds that you cannot be justified by faith unless you call God Yahweh, and Jesus Yeshua. I think I've heard of this from another source, that being my younger brother. I think I'll contact him to see if this is the same thing he has been babbling about. For a few years, now, he has gone off on tangents about the name(s) of God.

I would say that you should avoid involvement with this group simply because the founder has sought to make himself equal with God. That is an immense tip-off that it is not Gospel based. The Gospel was kept simple because Jesus came to unburden mankind, and to build a bridge between Himself and fallen man. He did that by fulfilling the Law and the Prophets, completely, and then making it clear that we have redemption based on unmerited grace, through the blood of the convenant. Once you have accepted that grace the Holy Spirit indwells within the believer and seals them against the day of judgment. I don't see any references to properly pronounced names there.

I would avoid any theology that adds complications, even if they are just small ones. By the Grace of Jesus Christ alone, through faith alone, unmerited, we have been healed.

Grace to us all!

Here are some more congratulations to you both!

And, yes, please encourage your wife to get online. As a pk trying to tear herself away from Adventism, she is going to be in for some very difficult times ahead. She will need people to talk to who can understand the SDA mindset. As much as you love her, you can't understand some of the crazy things that have been imprinted on our brains.

Keep in touch!

Praise God...

Hrob,

I agree with PraiseGod, and Carol-2 that this forum may be a good place for your wife to come.

I would caution you however to consider well and pray about when to suggest her getting on here. It may be just what she needs, but it may overwhelm her instead. Ask God for guidence and don't rush it.

May God richly bless both you and her.

Rob!

Congratulations to you and D!! You know that I am happy for you and I know you will take care of her and protect her.. Be patient through the difficult times. REMEMBER THAT! You once told me that when someone leaves everything that they knew, that they have a fear of falling because they think they have nothing to hold on to. I will tell you what you told me: Be her example of Jesus in your home --- and I will add, be that example through daily prayer, compassion, patience and first and foremost love!

I know you two will last a lifetime and I am sooo happy for you. Your cheerleader loves you very much! Always have her back and protect her.

JUST KIDDING!

Really......so happy for you and how exciting a baby!

Hrob,
Congratulations. Just remember that Jesus comes first in all things and not the SDA version of Him, i.e, sabbath, tithing, etc. Love Jesus with all you heart, mind, and soul, and your wife as yourself. You will have rough times, but when you lean on Jesus He will get you through them.
I am praying for the both of you and the baby that is coming. Keep in touch.
Tell your wife about us and when she is ready she will join us.
God can and will redeem all we do, if we let him and I know you love Him.
God is awesome.
Diana
