Are we still praying Saturday afternoons, for the SDA church? I haven't been keeping up on this site to see about that, but I have been praying.
I have a friend whose marriage is starting to bust at the seams because of the strain of one spouse being SDA and one non-denom Christian. It isn't a rarity!
Let's keep praying.

Yes, the prayers on Saturday afternoon and Friday evening are on going. Thanks for your prayers. My marriage was one of me being SDA and my ex, who was baptized SDA, decided as soon as we were married not to be SDA. He did not understand why I did not like that. But that is in the past and I can understand what your friends are going through.

I have passed along the Saturday prayer chain to four who are formers but not internet users. They are joining us at 1 PST.

Just an idea, Colleen, why not do a standing "banner" in Proclaimation! announcing the prayer chain and the texts which mention the veil over the heart when the law is read. It might help to tap into the 10,000 plus base, and would let those reading who are current SDA know that, we Formers are praying for them, as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Isn't HE great!

I'm usually still up at 11PMCAT (Central African Time) (1PM PST), so I'll join in your prayer chain then, seeing it is a Saturday night.
God Bless

Thomas, I just saw your suggestion--it's great! We'll make sure something's in each issue. I love including the Bible verses...

Loren, I'm delighted that you'll join us!

It is fantastic to see how God is making the prayer chain grow. Now we have some one in Central Africa to pray with us. Loren, if you know any formers, tell them about the prayer time and ask if they want to join us. Praise God for all of the people who are praying with us. He is awesome.

I hope this is the right thread to place a prayer request. So, here it is. This has absoutely been the brthday from hell. My youngest child is 19 today. To make a long story short he hasn't been taking his medicine and he is mentally not right The neighbors know he has problems and when he goes out they taunt him and make fun of him. Then he gets nutty and they call the cops and report that he's nutting out and he's the one that gets arrested. Just two nights ago I was up with him almost all night trying to keep himm from committing sucide. I phoned crisis mental health and was told about his Constitutational rights. He ran out of his medicine and his condition has been deterating rapidely. He's now on sucide watch at the county jail facing some very serious charges. To add insult to injury after the cops drove off with him our neighbors were out there high five'ing as they drove off with my son in the backseat and laughing. A lot of the charges are just plain lies but I just don't know what to do about it. Several nights ago my son was having five different conversations going on at once with invisible people. Please, pray that this will all work out. The good news is that none of us got murdered. The cop had his gun pointed at my son and I ran out and stood in front of the officers gun. The cop kept shouting for me to getout of his way. I just hollered back at the officer that I'd move when he moved the barrel of the gun away from my sons face. The cop then pointed his gun to the side, I moved and sat on the curb as I was instructed to and fortunately we didn't get shot. I think it's sad when the best thing that happened during the day is that we didn't get killed.

Susan, I am so sorry today was such a bad day! You and your family have been in my prayers and will continue to be. It's just such a shame that people can't treat others with kindness and respect regardless of their problems. When they don't, it just makes everything so much worse.

Oh Susan! I'm praying for you. I can't even imagine going through all you've gone through just the last couple of days, let alone everything else you've been through.

May God give you peace and comfort.

I too am so sorry Susan! Will hold you up in prayer to our Saviour and King. As I know you know, He will NEVER leave you.

You're such an inspiration, so feisty and spirited, and always make me laugh....I hate thinking of the pain you are experiencing.

God bless you,

Susan, as I hear your stories, I also fear the day my daughter is an adult. She is prone to violent outrages, and I fear she may spend her life in some horrible situation because of her actions. I pray for you, your son and the people around him that he may get the help he needs.

Father, thank you for Susan's heart, for the Love a mother has for her child. I pray for her son, Lord, that he would get on his meds, and stay on them. If they don't help, I pray the doctors will find something that can. Most of all I pray you would heal his disorder and give him the full life parents dream of for their children. But recognizing you are a sovereign God, we trust your hand to work the situation to the good of those involved. Help us to be sensitive to those around us in our world who have special needs that we learn to respond with compassion and not ridicule. Thank you, Father, that you hear us, and know our hearts. We truly love you.

Susan, I'm praying for you and your sons also. I'm praying that your son will stay on his meds and find the help he needs. Above all, I'm praying your boys will come to know the saving love of Jesus.

Thanks much to all of you. My son is out of the rubber room as I can visit with him tomorrow. I called his public defender and left a message for him explainingthe issues and concerns. It was a whole lot easier before he turned 18. The very day he truned 18 he was totally under different laws. I cannot make him go to the doctor anymore. I cannot make him take his meds. And, are you aware that at least 90% of people diagnosed paranoid schitzopherenic can lead totally normal lives IF they will be dilligent in taking their medicines? But the nature of the disorder itself leads its people to not trust the medicine. I'm sure things will work out. I stay pretty cheerful most the time. Yet, three times during my sleep last night I woke up cryig in my sleep. I don't think that is good but I guess have so much to deal with while awake that my body deals with this other stuff in my sleep. Thank you all very much. I appriciate your concern.

Susan,

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with all of this.

Is your son receptive to having anyone pray over him? I'd get him to the nearest pastor I knew well and trusted.

I'm not at all opposed to medication, but if he wont take it what can you do?

I'm praying you will receive some peace and normalcy in your life.

Sabra
