My mother-in-law who lives in East Wenatchee, WA, mentioned in my presence a sermon at her church where the pastor mentioned Ellen White could be proved by Vincent Van Gogh's painting "The Starry Night." Whatever it was about the information, it impressed her. She wasn't talking to me, so I didn't get all the details, but has anyone ever heard of this? I rummaged around on the Internet but couldn't find anything. I'm sure this guy didn't come up with the idea. Any thoughts on this would help satisfy my curiousity and provide me with a reply should they decide to enlighten me with the details of this piece of news.

Windmotion,
All I found was a web site www.arttoheartweb.com/starry_night.htm that has spiritual essays derived from various pieces of art, Van Gogh's Starry Night included. Check it out.

That was a neat little essay flying. My mom the art major told me astronomers have analyzed that painting and discovered based on the date of the painting the stars are in the precise location they were supposed to be, so it's not a random picture at all, even though it may look like it. I'm guessing this ellen white thing has something to do with that, although I can't imagine what. But thanks for looking :-)

The only thing I can connect with Van Gough and Ellen White is that he cut off his ear because he was tired of hearing her strange teachings.

Could you blame him? ;-)

"Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast [them] from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire." (Matthew 18:8 KJV.)

:-)

I think the Starry Night painting reflects what Ellen White saw when she got nailed in the head with a rock.

Haha you are all so funny. I will remember those in case the subject comes up. Yes Vincent van Gogh did commit suicide. A great book on his life for all those interested is "A Lust for Life" by Irving Stone
