Hey, i happened to catch a 3abn broadcast via Sky Angel TV the other day. I noticed that Linda Shelton was nowhere to be found.
In fact , my mother in law (who is SDA), TOLD ME THAT Linda Shelton and Danny Shelton( 3ABN PRESIDENT AND FOUNDERS), are no longer married. AND that Linda has been fired from 3ABN!
Well, the Bible warns about idle talk and gossip. So, i found Linda Shelton's web site which confirms the rumor.
Maybe God is "cleaning house" with 3abn and hopefully the SDA Church as well!
My guess is that Linda didnt agree with SDA doctrine or something.

I also looked up her website the other day. My husband told me she had her own website. My first impression was that she quoted "the great prophet" (Linda's exact words). So I doubt she disagrees with SDA doctrine

I agree, Madelia. I don't believe doctrine was the issue, although I really don't know much about the situation. Somehow I don't think this break signifies house cleaning, although whenever there is a public crisis such as this, it usually causes as least some people to start asking some important questions.

I was told by my MIL that she (Linda Shelton), was accused of "spiritual adultery". I guess this is a "new doctrine" from the 3abn "church".

It seems Mr Shelton needed a biblical reason to file for divorce(Matthew 5:32) I am not sure what "spiritual Adultery" means. Maybe he (Mr Shelton), is trying to take a scripture( Matt 5:27,28) out of context to make his own doctrine to save face with the SDA Church and the viewers of 3abn!
Anyway, my MIL and many other Adventist i come in contact with, are really hurt and confused over this scandal. My prayer is that we can comfort these people and share the TRUTH (jOHN 8:32,36 John 14:6) in LOVE!
god bless Ron

Here is an Adventist Today article about the situation: http://www.atoday.com/238.0.html

What is spiritual adultry? Is it having sexual activities with spirits? I read an article about a man in LA who makes his living doing this. He advertises that he an conjoure up the spirits of a womens departed and much loved long dead husbands. Than he takes this dead mans spirit into himself and then he has sex with the widow in proxy for her husband. He claims to have had sexual relations with hundreds of widows who miss their loving husbands. I think it's really sick-o but that is the only thing I can think of that would fit the defination of spiritual adultry-having adultrous relations with spirits.

If you read the link posted by Jeremy above for the Adventist Today article, there's a definition there of spiritual adultery. Here's the quote:

"Sources close to Linda Shelton cite the 3ABN allegation of 'spiritual adultery' as a factor in her dismissal, a phrase invoked among conservative Christians but not readily definable elsewhere. It appears to mean that the person so accused became overly friendly with, or bonded to, a person other than a spouse."

I had never heard that term before Linda Shelton was accused of it.

The SDAs sure don't recognize the Biblical definition of "spiritual adultery": Romans 7 where it says that we are committing adultery if we try to be married to Christ and the Law!

Well why should the Biblical definition matter?

One more example of "proof texting" :-)
