Please pray for me. I am going through a difficult time with my wife. I will travel to another state within a week and do not see myself returning.

The lies, the hard heartedness and her subtle attempts to force me into the SDA church have proven intolerable.

I will speak more about this later, if anyone wishes.

Dear Father, I pray for Jerry and his wife. You know their hearts and what they are going through. May your will be done in their relationship. May your love be in them. Comfort Jerry during this most difficult time and give him great wisdom. In the Name that is above every other name, the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Dear Father, please give Jerry Your wisdom and peace. Please help him to know Your will with all spiritual wisdom and understanding (Colossians 1:9). Please bless his wife, and glorify Yourself through this trial. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Jerry--I will continue to pray for you and your wife and for you to know God's will. Please keep us posted on how you're doing; you already know you can come here for support and prayer at any time. We look forward to hearing from you and will stand by you in prayer.

Jerry, I encourage you to look for all the great attributes of our Lord and Savior. It was "fitting" for Jesus to be our Savior. He KNOWS what pain and suffering are all about. He KNOWS agony. He can relate better than anyone to the turmoil you are experiencing. Cling to Him! My prayers for you will be for you to feel His peace amidst all your sorrows. Remember, too, God brought us all to this place (forum). You have the love and support of many people. You are NOT alone. Ps. 40 - He is our Helper and our Deliverer!!

Jerry,
I pray for you. Trials are only meant to make you stronger and God doesn't put you through anything that you cannot handle. I sincerely pray for you. You are within the palm of God's hand and that alone will give you needed strength. Keep me posted. One Love.

I'm back.

I just read all of your generous comments and prayers.

Thank you so much.

I will be staying with relatives for a while so I can get my feet on the ground. Financially, I have been crushed in the last year.

I must take substantial responsibility for this.

I was not able to handle the pressure of paranoia, perfectionism, and control all so very subtly exerted by my wife. I believe she sincerely thinks she is totally right and had no responsibility in this break up.

How could she know? She comes from severe abuse in many ways. Most of it can be directly or indirectly attributed to the SDA culture, but is not exclusively that.

She was trying to alienate me from my friends and family (non-SDA) even my son. I do not think she saw it that way, however, that is what was happening.

Thank you for your prayers. I will return to this board within a few days. Then you may see me more regularly.

God bless all of you.

Jerry I understand and I pray God's special comfort and security to you now.

I understand because my daughter has gone thru the same the since fall of 1998 after a marriage of 10 years. She worked at it until November of 2002 when she filed for divorce and the divorce was final November of 2003.

While I still say that I do not totally agree with what she did I do understand and I have to let her do what she has to do. And in so doing I have to believe it is in God's will. And if an SDA hears this they will call it hideous because God does not like divorce and I say I do not like it either and have a 41 year old marriage to prove it but I still say it had to be her decision and now that it is done 2 young boys suffer.

Jerry I pray your strength in God as you go forth in your qwest for truth of the only thing that matters; God living in you thru His Son's Death for remittance of sins, His Burial for change and His Resurrection for our Eternal life.

I would pray also for your wife and God's revelation of truth to her. May God be glorified in your endeavors.

Carol

Jerry, You are still in my prayers.
I used to be that kind of wife. I came from a dysfunctional family and a dysfunctional church. My ex got baptized an SDA 2 years before we married, so I would agree to marry him. Then after we married he reverted. I was not nice to him and I have seen for a long time my part in the breakup of our marriage. I apologized to him when we broke up. After joining the FAF I really saw what I had done to him, so I sent him an email telling him I had left the SDA church and why and I apologized. Unfortunately, his email address did not accept my email. I do not have his snail mail address, but when I do get it, I will write to him. Like I said I USED TO BE LIKE YOUR WIFE. Thank God I no longer have to be like that and have not been for years.
God is awesome.

Dear Jerry, Your situtation is in my prayers. Yes, I can cetanily understand how the SDA religion would play a part in a marriage. It is not a religion that lends itself to compromise. I hope you will be o.k. I hope you have family and friends you can actually be with.

Here am again with another prayer request. I hope I don't bother God too much with all my issues. This afternoon I was eating my taco. I chomped on what I thought was a piece of bone. I thought to myself, "Well, I'm never going there again for my tacos. They don't even take the bones out of their meat." Then on the next bite, OOOUCH!, I realized it was not the bone of a cow I found in my meat, it was over half of one of my back teeth. I called the dentist right away but I couldn't be seen today. I'll have to wait until tomrrow. So, I rushed to the clinic and the doctor gave me a perscription for some pain killers because I am in great agony. The doctor was very compassionate. He just broke his tooth in pieces last week from biting into the pit of a date. I have figureed out the secret to getting a compassionate doctor. Find one that went thrugh just the same agony the week earlier. In the meantime please pray that I can get this taken care of. Thank-you so much.

Susan,
You and I have been through similar experiences. I had a temporary crown come off. The dentist that did the temporary, I decided not to revisit as she hurt me a lot and I had to have more than 4 shots. The crown she put on has come off and now I have to make an appt with another dentist. Like my right knee cap there is NO PAIN. Thank You GOD. You are awesome.
So I will remember you in my prayers and ask for everyones prayers as I go to a new dentist and pray I have the money to pay for it. My insurance took care of the first dentist, but I did not accept the crown because she was going to have to deaden the gums and that is not acceptable to me. I do not know if the insurance will pay for this one. She hurt me to much the previous time.

WOW! Diana, that is too bad. You have pain at both ends of your body, you mouth and your knee. I sure hope the middle of your body is in good repair! I was in a real funk so to lift my spirits I did a real splurge. I went to the record store and bought myself a new CD by my favorite Hawaii'an musician, Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole. Nothing lifts my down moods like Hawaii'an music. Well, The Grateful Dead does a good job as does Jehro Tull ( I LOVE hard rock!) but mostly I love my Hawaii'an music. And, I like drumming and chanting. Do any of you others on here ever go hang with the Hare Kishnas? The do some real good chanting and, well, it's good. Going to hang with the Hare Krishnas and the Dead Heads also gets me out of a dreary mood. Anyway, thanks for our prayers and Diana my prayers will be going up to heaven in your great need, too. Sincerely, Susan

Susan, your prayers will not "bother God"! I'm praying that both you and Diana will be able to get your teeth crowned in a well-done, affordable way.

And Diana, I agree--dentists should not hurt you that much! I've been fortunate to have some very good, careful ones; they do exist!

I have a prayer praise. My 20 year old son has been on a bummer necause he was having a hard time finding a job. Well, last week he got hired at the job of his dreams. He not only gets paid wages but also commission and also a bonus on specific other items sold at the business he's at. His bosslady is very nice so it's turly a blessing. He had been getting discouraged at not having and it turned out thatof all the places he'd applied for work at he got the best job, the job he most was hopeing for. It is such a blessing.

We need to pray for the salvation of the people that are left after the Tsunami in the Indian Ocean. Such a terrible thing.

I believe that it is a sign of things to come! Things will soon be altered all over the world.

Peace,

Magpie

Isn't it great we have a God who cares about our aching teeth? No care is too little or insignificant.

I know I am thankful God so graciously works out my needs even before I know I have a need. There are so many miracles around my new house and the stories I could tell....but I just marvel at it all. Just last night, I was scurrying all over the house looking for my keys to the church's AV room where I am supposed to make the mp3 for our web site, and around 10 pm, the Lord told me where to look at my other house.... So, this morning I went, and there they were, right where he said. It is incredible as you learn to hear the voice of God when you've asked for help!
