When I lived in Miami for a year and spoke Spanish every day, I picked up a Cuban Spanish accent. When I heard my self speak English with this accent it sounded so strange to my ears. Two years later I was back in Virginia, after 1 year in Texas, where I spoke very little Spanish. One of my son's friends told him I had a Spanish accent. I thought that was hilarious as I had not spoken Spanish, on a daily basis, for 2 years.
So, in the past, I have had an accent.

Where is the "create new conversation" button?
I see "start new thread" but that seems to just start a new conversation within a conversation.

Still figuring things out here! :-)

At the bottom of the main page with all the threads listed on it (the page called "DISCUSSION") there is a link that says "Start New Thread." :-)

I should have said near the bottom of the main page--it's right under the last thread entitled "Advent."

Ah! Thanks Jeremy! You are a helpful one on this forum! I see it now. Looks like there have been MANY interesting conversations held here over the last year or so! It's hard to keep up! Linda

Dennis - to answer your earlier question - Madalynn Haldeman was 79 at the time of death.

I just got home from the memorial service. It was long, but meaningful in terms of people's personal recollections of the deceased, etc. However, predictably, I think I heard the name of Jesus mentioned only once during the two hours. None of the prayers offered were "in Jesus' name." I think at the very end, someone mentioned the final resurrection once.

I saw and chatted with some old friends whom I had not seen in years, but overall, the memorial service was typically Adventist - pretty much a "downer." If someone there had needed to hear the message of the Gospel, they were out of luck.

Bob,

Thanks for the memorial service information. I did not know Dr. Haldeman, but a friend of mine did. Hopefully, the investigative judgment verdict will be favorable to her (now I am meddling :>).

Dennis, I've said it to you before and I will say it again, I love your wry, get-to-them-under-the-skin sense of humor. Reading your humor gets a laugh out of me. You're just too funny. The FAF stand-up comedian. Thanks.

Dennis,
I, too, like you sense of humor. I sat here and laughed when I read your comment.
And Susan, your stories are something else. You have had some really different experiences.
Between you and Dennis, I get a lot of laughs.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HUMOR!!!
Diana
