This was written with women in mind, but I do appreciate the men and women I have met here.
Diana

Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Love waxes and wanes.
Hearts break.
Relationships end.
Jobs come and go.
Careers end.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Men don't call when they say they will.

BUT...

Girlfriends are there, no matter how much time and how many miles
are between you. A girlfriend is never farther away than needing her can reach.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to
walk it for yourself, your girlfriends will be on the valley's rim,
cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf,
and waiting with open arms at the valley's end. Sometimes, they will
even break the rules and walk beside you. Or come in and carry you out.

Daughters, sisters, mother, sisters-in-law, mother-in-law, aunties,
nieces, cousins, extended family, and girlfriends bless our lives.
The world wouldn't be the same without them, and neither would I.

When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the
incredible joys and sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we
would need each other. Every day, we need each other still.

Pass this on to the women who help make your life wonderful.

I just did.

Thank you! that was a sweet thing to pass on. We do need each other in all of this, and I appreciate those on this forum also.

I will copy the poem and place it in my pocketbook. Then I can read it whenever I need a quick pick-me-up. You are quite the poet! I will put it in the same pocket that I keep my copy of the Apostle's Creed, The Prayer of St. Francis of Asissi and my prayer of St. Patrick. BTW, I also keep a pocket copy of the Bill of Rights and the Constituation with me all the time.

Susan_2, I cannot claim credit for this, as much as I might like to. It was sent to me by a girl friend from grade school days. She is still SDA and I have told her I am not. She does not preach at me or hold up EGW to me. She just acknowledged that we see things and believe differently now, but we are still friends. So copy it as much as you want and pass it on to others.
