Chris...better term...you look "buff"! :-)

Is your signature "Chris" in Greek? Hebrew?

Yes, it was supposed to be a transliteration of "Chris, but now that I look at my signiture, I see that it's wrong.

I was playing around with the font tags and it appears that the font tags changed the "h" into a "h" (Eta). Since there is no equivalent to "h" in Greek I need to drop that letter prior to formating.

The Greek letter "c" (Chi) sounds like the "ch" sound in English, so it should read: "Cris"

I also see one other thing that's wrong, but don't know how to fix it yet. The greek letter "s" (sigma) only takes this form s when it is at the beginning or middle of a word. When it comes at the end of a word, as it does in my name, it should look somewhat similar to an english lower case "s". Does anyone no how to produce a sigma as it should appear at the end of a word?

It really is nice putting a face to the words. I have tried to down load a photo onto my profile, but it is always to big. I asked Richard to help me and he made my photo small enough, but when I try to down load it to my pictures file, my program enlarges it. Then I cannot down load it to the FAF profile. Oh, Well, one of these days I will get it right. In the meantime I do enjoy seeing to whom I am writing.
Each of you are a blessing to me and I am so thankful to our AWESOME God for each of you.

If any of you are having problems uploading your photo to the forum, send it to me and I'll be happy to shrink it and upload it for you. Richard Tinker

(BTW, I'm delighted that you all are getting "introduced" to Richard here--he's as kind and intelligent as his picture looks. I am so thankful for him!)

Thomas, are you referring to having trouble getting in to edit your profile?

The password you use on the forum should work to edit. If you have trouble, email Richard at formeradventist@yahoo.com.

I get on the forum with a cookie remembered password, but need the password to edit the profile. What I thought was my password is not excepted, and the cookie hides the password here.

What now?

Colleen,
Your Richard is a real sweetheart. I could not get my photo posted on here, so he did it for me.
I sent him an e-mail and told him Thank You. Now I will see how my photo looks.
God is so good and so awesome.

Diana, do you have an accent? everytime I read your post I have some sort of accent voice in my head...and I'm not good with regions to know what kind, maybe hispanic because I've heard you mention the spanish literature. It is interesting to see how the mental picture matches the real one...

Melissa,
The only accent I have is one from Southern California mixed with the south from Northern VA and 2 years in Florida, one of which I spoke Spanish most of the time. Between So Cal and No VA, I lived 5 years in Montreal, Quebec and learned French. So what ever accent I have from where ever is gone by now as I have been in NV for 2 years now and have not spoken French since I left Quebec in 1975. My parents did not teach their children Spanish when we were little. So I learned in high school and college. Now, I speak Spanish occasionally when I have a Spanish speaking patient who does not speak/understand English. At this time any accent I had has disappeared. I have been blessed with the talent to pick up languages easily. For that I am very thankful to a very awesome God.

I wish I had that gift. My ex husband was hispanic and I always felt that communication issues (I didn't speak spanish) created a lot of issues in the family. Even though they spoke English when they spoke to me, they spoke spanish to others and I had no clue what was being said. Anyway, I just think it's funny that when I read your posts, the voice has an accent...kindof like we get mental images of what people look like though we've never seen them.
