Today is my birthday. I will ask each of you for some special gifts. Your prayers. Prayers for me in my continuing growth in Christ. Prayers that I exhibit love and patience with the hardhearted SDA's in my life when they give me their wild reactions that I should be SDA. I have four sons, one d-i-l and three grandchildren. Prayer for the oldest son as tomorrow he leaves out to sea for five months. This sort of deployment is very hard so not only extend your prayers for him but his shipmates too. We don't know where he'll be. Like my seven year old granddaughter says, "Daddy is on the ocean." His wife and the three little ones. The seven year old goes to SDA school. She already recites the biography of EGE. Please pray she learns about Jesus. The babies go to SS as does their sister. Pray they learn first and formost about Jesus. My d-i-l as she's just learning English herself and all her family are far away in another country. Pray that I can get to their house often during these next five months to help her. My second son as he is incarcerated at the state prison. He will be out soon. Pray the Holy Spirits leading in his life and also that he reralized it's time to leave his wild days to his past. The two youngest sons that they will follow God's leading and be how God wants them to be. I want to thank you all at this time for teaching me things I needed to know and for your encouragement and wisdom and prayers. And, to the lurkers out there I hope you have the peace that passes all understanding. And, also prayers for my elderly mother, bless her heart, she's lived through a lot so pray for her peace and wisdom, too. Thank-you all very much. BTW, I'm 54.

Happy Birthday Susan_2! I just said a prayer for you that you would experience an extra special blessing this day. May God wrap His loving arms around you and give you a tight squeeze!

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation or distress or persecution, or famine or nakedness or peril or sword? Yet, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us..For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers not things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. "

May God plant the knowledge of His love deep in your heart this day! Love, lindylou

Dear Susan,

With the others, I'm praying for you to have a special helping of Holy Spirit indwelling today. I'll pray that your daughter-in-law will find you to be an invaluable aid over these months while your son is defending our country. I pray he will impress you with just the right way to portray God's love to your grandchildren as you laugh and play with them. It is so important for children to know that they can joyously come to Jesus and find him to be a safe place to be. Remember, he is being taught to them as a somewhat distant guide, one that says, "I do it this way, you do the same." They need to know that he's done it for them. They need to know this while they are still very young.

I pray for that young father's safety. He has so much to come back home to after he has served his country. We thank him for his service, and we pray for his shielding should he go into harms way.

I pray your other son is receiving better information, and that this time being locked up will produce good fruit for his re-entry into society.

And like Lindylou, I hope and pray you will feel the warmth of the Love of God all around you, not only today, but every single day of your life until He calls you home. You should be at the peak of your life now. You've lived it long enough that you've climbed to where you can see for a long, long way, and thus be a great benefit to others who haven't lived as long, and seen as far as you.

Blessings and Hugs, Belva

Thank-you all so much. Lindylou, what text is it that you put above? I want to read the entire passage it is from.

Happy Birthday Susan dear!

My prayers go out to you and your family and just remember that regardless of where your sons are, God is there with them because of YOUR prayers, and guess what else? There are many believers in the service and many prison ministries and believers that hold faith strong in the Lord! No matter how far they go, they can't run from your prayers and God's true ambassadors and worshippers all over the world!

Jesse Duplantis said that he used to say "Mama, stop praying for me! you're driving me crazy! (something to that affect) He said she prayed so much for him, that he would even call her from the clubs and tell her stop praying for me!!" He could feel God drawing him! And isn't He loving and serving the Lord now?? Amen he is!

Special birthday wishes to you Susan...

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

"The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent." Ex. 14:14

May your 54th year of life be filled with the peace that God's grace gives.

Happy birthday Susan! You are an incredible blessing to us, and if we were a senior class, I'd elect you "Class Clown." (And I mean that in a good way!)

Love and prayers, Carol

My children gave me a birthday party today. Cake and rootbeer floats. In the card was a gift cirtificate to a store. I went right to the store and used the gift card to buy the Luther movie. We will watch it tomorrow evening. I was very fortunate in that it was the last copy of the movie the store had. I think maybe God was holding it for me because the movies were alphabetically organized and we found it under the "M' and not the "L" heading. About my two oldest sons-one lives on a military base and the other is in prison. I tell people my two oldest children live in exclusive gated communities. I thought I was clever to come up with that. About being 54, I don't feel old. Heck, most the time I don't even feel mature. I'll be fine. Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of shaking hands after being introduced to a man who is 104 years old. I heard he is the oldest person in Santa Barbarba County. He's slowing down a bit now. He still lives in his own home although his family doesn't leave him alone anymore. And, I thought, "I just know this man has never heard of any EGW or SDA health message and just look at him." And, I did watch him in total amazement. If I can get that old then I still have another 50 years, WOW! Anyway, I had a nice day. I'm eagerally looking forward to my 54th year. Thanks for your prayers and for teaching me so much when I read your entries on this forum.

Tracey, You mentioned prison ministries. you can log onto the Tex Watson website and read about his prison ministries program. Just put his name into search. To refresh your memory he is the man who while still very young got caught up with the Charles Manson group and atually did the murders. He has grown into a wonderful man. He realized his earthly life will always be in prison so as the saying goes about turning lemons into lemonade, he has his testimonal on that site, he became an ordained minister and through God miracles at the prison are being done through his influence. It's truly amazing. My friends son just recently got sentenced to 25 years. He is at the prison not far from my house and I'll be visiting with Willy Jr. starting soon. It's very sad as Willy Jr. has a four month old little daughter. She will be entirely raised with her daddy in prison. Willy Jr. will be 60 when he gets out. It sure makes me reflect on the importance of making right choices at any given moment.
