I just read Mark 10:2-9..

The Pharisees tested the Lord asking him if it's lawful for a man to divorce his wife..
Jesus' answered saying, "What did Moses command you?" They said divorce was allowable.

But then Jesus says "it was b/c the hearts of men was hard.. BUT at the beginning of creation, he made the two into one... "

I am mindblown b/c Jesus is soooo stinking consistent!!! He first referred to the Law of Moses from God (b/c we know he kept it) Then add this: Jesus words caused them to look at what was in the beginning!

Even though on the surface, this is a scripture about divorce, it's also a lessong of what God really wanted for us in the beginning and I just see this in light of the abuse of the 4th commandment observance.

In the beginning, we could've rested from that day He did and forward, but for the fall of man(Adam).. Thankfully Jesus came to fulfill what was promised and 1Cr 15:45 says And so it is written, ...the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit. And Jesus also said "Come unto me, all ye that labor and I will give you rest."

Beautiful! God can sooo be trusted! :-)

Tracey,

That was hot. As soon as I read it from your point of view, I was like whoa!! God gives people different things at different times and it is great how it all comes together in this forum.

Tracey,
I read your post last night and said okay.
But today I read it and got to thinking that at the end of creation when God did not give a beginning and end to the 7th day, and he blessed it and hallowed it, that was supposed to be a continuous rest in Him every day for the rest of our lives, if Adam and Eve had not sinned. We would have a personal relationship with Him that would grow every day of our lives. That is really astounding and awesome.
Now, because of Jesus death and resurrection, we can have that relationship with Him, that He wanted from the beginning of this earth. It is finally sinking in. What an awesome God we have.

I Know! Isn't that awesome??
He restored things back to where we were originally supposed to be in Him....Jesus is our second Adam, according to Corinthians.. Resting in Him once again (remember after Adam sinned, the curse that fell on him said that man would not toil all of his days?)
