Where is Redlands? Since I'm from MN I have no idea. Is it close to San Diego? I'm going to a conference for work in San Diego in June. I was thinking, if it was close, I'd love to join your Friday night group.

Anyway, I love the idea of FAFers getting together, whether in CA or Vegas

Colleen can I attend. I'm still on the books but if it counts for anything I do have membership in a wonderful Sunday church not far from where I live. :-)

Colleen,
That sounds wonderful. I have family in Riverside. So I could stay with them and even invite them to hear us. Witnessing on Saturday evening sounds like something I have never done before, but I am all for it.
It is an hour flight from Vegas or a 4 hour drive. Either way I will be there. Just do not make it in September, because my oldest sister and
I are going on a cruise and I am not sure of the date yet. But COUNT ME IN.

Oh...I wanted to give my opinion...for what it is worth...Nov and Dec are "crowded" months with the Holidays, family, travel...maybe this fall or the early months of 06?

Colleen,
I know I am not next door, but if I can do anything to bring this to pass, I would consider it a privilege to help. So let me know, OKAY???

Diana, Is it true that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? Wittessing on Saturday night? You must be kidding. I'll be ditching you all that evening. I want to go hear Elton John more than anything else in the whole world. If I can't get in to see him
then I'll be partying down on Saturday night.

I would love to come! The testimony time would be so Great! it would, of course, depend on airfares...as we'd be coming from MI.

Susan,
That depends on what is happening. In our church the pastor says what happens in Vegas affects the world or something like that.
I like to party as well as the next person, but I think sharing our testimonies with SDAs on Sat evening would be wonderful. I can party after that.

OK, Diana, exactialy how do you think we'll get those current SDA's to come to our shindig so we can wittness to them? My guess is that the Currents will not voluntary come check out the Formers. And, honest, I don't think it is right for Formers to go onto SDA property to prostalize. I just can't understand how the teo groups will come together voluntarilly. At the same time, that might be more fun than partying (although not more fun than hearing Elton John) so if you and the others can figure out how to pull it off I'll be there.

Susan,
Read the post on here from Colleen about her's and Richard's brainstorm. It is about having the reunion of formers in Redlands, CA and using the church they attend.
And if the current SDAs do not come, I will be out partying with you.

OK--I'll talk to a few people and see when they might be able to participate--ie Dale, Mark Martin, Gary Inrig, etc.--and I'll let you all know.

We'll advertise here and in PRoclamation, of course--I'm certain that as time goes one, there'll be concrete things we can do for this.

This promises to be a really great weekend--I can't wait to meet all of you!

Count me and my husband in! We are up here near Seattle, but would try to make it down there.

His parents and brother and families are in Menifee and Quail Valley, so we could combine the trip with a visit to them also. We drove down there Christmas before last. We both have time off work from Christmas to New Years. Luckily we had pretty good weather going down. Coming back was a bit of a challenge due to snow and freezing rain. I'd prefer to do it in the Spring or Fall. That avoids the snow in the passes and maybe it wouldn't be SO HOT!! The year before we drove down in July and it was 115 degrees! That's too hot for us NW people!

The ideas you listed sound great. Set the date and we'll do everything we can to come! I'm excited to meet everyone!

As soon as I get this issue of Proclamation "in the can", I'll begin calling people to get available dates.

For me at least, choosing a time that flights and lodging are cheap will be a huge plus.

Hi dear friends! I've been away quite a few weeks, first in Mexico in Cuernavaca at a language school, then at my in-law's lakehouse for a week with family.

Is a FAF gathering still being planned? I'd like to know, as I'm planning to visit my daugher at ASU in Tempe some time this late summer or fall. Would love to coordinate the trip. How far is Phoenix from the area we're talking about meeting? Would also love for my daughter to gather with us. She's just 19, and I'm not sure how interested she would be, but has been asking more and more questions about why I'm no longer SDA, and seems to be a bit more interested in learning why I've left and notices the vast differences and attitudes of SDAs vs. mainstream, sincere Christians.

A praise report......Rocky came home yesterday....my new boxer pup. What a joy. I thought he'd totally heal my broken heart after losing Chief, but still miss my Dobe terribly. I know Rocky will soon fill that "dog shaped" hole in my heart.

Love you all, Carol

Hi, Carol! Glad to see you back. How was the trip?

Richard and I are going to have an appointment with our pastor in two weeks when he gets back from a trip--we spoke to him last Sunday--and make some concrete plans for the "gathering". We've made some preliminary contacts with Mark Martin, etc., and the response has been favorable. We're going to try to nail down a time with the pastor, and we'll let you all know when we have something firm.

Wonderful about your dog! Our new Shelty, Rocky II, is filling the dog-shaped hole in my heart as well!

Colleen,
Having met Belva, in person, and Susan, by e-mail and phone calls, it will be exciting to meet all of you in person. I have put this reunion on my prayer list that we will be used by God. I started to write that WE will do BIG things for God. You notice I put us first. I still do that ocassionally. I am far from perfect and that is okay, as God accepts me and loves me.
Any way, I am looking forward to this reunion.
