My heart feels heavy as I think about Richard and other's like him who come to this forum. I know that there are particular times in our lives that we can only bear to hear postive uplifting things. We must dwell on God's love and goodness to keep us sane. Sometimes, it is all we can do to keep our head above water and not drown with our burdens and sorrows.

There have been times when I've had to back away from visiting the forum. It was not the fault of anyone here - only the result of what was going on in me at the time. In the same way, there have been times in a book club, when I could not read a certain book (I remember throwing one of our books across the room in anger) because it struck to the heart of something that I could not deal with at the moment.

I am thankful to have found this place of discussion that allows me freedom of speech - helps me not feel alone and lets me turn it off if I want to - with no judgement from anyone. I can lurk - peruse for "food for thought" - contribute a word here and there and even disagree. I can choose to avoid this site at times or embrace it.

The important thing is that it is here. You are all here - bringing a sense of community - a family of sorts. When encouragement is needed - you offer it. When prayer is asked for - you eagerly respond. When questions are asked - you dig up facts and answer. You share your wisdom, doubts, concerns and fears and Christian love.

The bottom line - It is wonderful to have a place to share and question and doubt - without worrying that someone else will be rolling their eyes at me in disgust , (if you are, I can't see you at least! :-) ) or worrying about my salvation - or laying guilt on me for my probing questions. It is a SAFE place! And that means so very much.

Richard, know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. And over all - God will NEVER leave you! NOTHING can separate you from His love!

ìIn all those dark moments, O God, grant that I may understand that it is you who are painfully parting the fibers of my being in order to penetrate to the very marrow of my substance..î
(Teilhard de Chardin)

Blessings to all this day. Linda

I could not have said it better, Linda. This is a very safe, understanding place. Richard, our prayers are with you at this time. God is holding you in his awesome hands. He will carry you as long as you need it.

To write is to get naked, and that's too much. To leave my well dressed Adventism for the starkness of following Jesus can be painful, but He's my only hope. The forum is important. It's a place to help the new leavers, but some of us are too raw to handle the salt of discussion. For me, safety right now is demanded over fellowship. This is simply for information sake, for understanding as to why some come and than leave for a time.

I can understand your reason for being quiet right now Lisa! May you find the safety you need right now, and may God heal us all.
