Hi everyone, I am Shontay, a former Adventist, (GOD BE PRAISED!!!) and I just want to thank God for the Tinkers and this forum. You know, there are a great deal of people that come to this site that read, but never post. I was one of those persons. I now, however am ready to begin to speak and participate and share my views and thoughts. Each of you are uniquely designed and are refreshing in your own way. I feel safe to ask you to please pray for my friends.

I am asking for prayer for them because of my journey. I have actually gotten statements like, "You were such an inspiration!" - Spoken as if I died and one was able to talk with me after death. (WOW) I hurt for them. Each of them, but I now know that I must do what God called me to do. It will not be easy nor smooth, but I know He will keep me safe and I know that He will be glorified in the end.

It's just that my friends are trying so hard to comprehend the new depth of my journey, and they are unable...for the white wash of their minds. These are not just hum drum Adventists, but Christians that have some really mixed ideas and are afraid that I just may have done the right thing. (you know?)

Anyways, I would greatly appreciate prayer for myself and my family, too.

Thank you all for your support and prayers.

In His Service,

Taybie

Praying Taybie, and welcome! I look forward to getting to know you!

I'm Mary, a former SDA who was freed from SDAism just over a year ago and resigned from the church I'd been a member of last fall.

I look forward to hearing your story!

Mary

May I also add my welcome, Taybie. I found your statement above interesting, that your friends are afraid that you may have made the "right" decision. You know what is next for your, don't you? Live the joy in Jesus as it flows to you and through you. That will validate to them that you have, indeed, made the right decision.

We will pray for your friends and your families. Gods loves every one of them, and placed you precisely where you are so that they can see what true joy in the Lord looks like. It's an awesome responsibility, but not difficult. Jesus wants us to put on the full armour of God, then all we have to do is just stand. I think I already talked about this on another thread, but you for sure, are a signpost, standing for Jesus Christ, right now for all of the people in your life that you love. We will love them in prayer as well

May God richly bless you and we are glad to have you come out of the shadows and be one with us now.

Welcome, Taybie. We are all indebted to the Tinker's for allowing God to use them as he does here....

I pray that your friends will find the truth you have.

Welcome Taybie, I am glad you have come out of the lurking mode. I left Adventism a little over a year ago. It has been a joyous year in spite of the bumps. God has cared for me and He will care for you.
I have put you and your friends on my prayer list.
Let us hear more about you, when you are ready.
Just remember we have an awesome God.
