Thanks to "Dd", I've just recently been introduced to the online reflections of "Al Maxey". In his lastest post, he quoted Luke 22:31-32:

And the Lord said,"Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you that your faith should not fail; and WHEN YOU HAVE RETURNED TO ME, strengthen your brethren."

This text really struck home. It speaks of such confidence on Christ's part - These are His words to Peter BEFORE Peter denies Him 3 times. I hear no condemnation or judgement. Rather, these are words that in reflection by Peter after his denial - would bring him such hope.

Applied to my own life - I think of a period of time when I really got fanatical. I always wondered how "God" let it happen, when I so much wanted to do right. Yet, as I read what Jesus said above - I sense such confidence on God's part - that no matter where my spiritual journey takes me - God has confidence that I will end up where I need to be - in Him!

The God of the Universe has faith in me! What an awesome sense of responsibility that gives me. Having someone believe in me is such a motivater.

My purpose in posting this is to give anyone reading this - HOPE! So many of us have regrets in our life and sometimes we wallow in them -"if only!" "Why?" "What an idiot I was!" The words of Jesus in this text tell me that God spends no time in regret - He only sees potential in each of us. After all, He has forgiven us of ALL sins, past, present and FUTURE!

When you think of the Creator's faith in YOU, doesn't your spirit soar with a sense of freedom and gratitude? And of course, who wouldn't want to "strengthen your brethren" knowing such wonderful Good News!

"Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God." IJohn 3:1

Thank you, Linydou. What wonderful insight, and what wonderful reassurance. I related to the wallowing in "What an idiot I was," etc. I don't even remember what happened, but just a couple days ago I was in that very state, and I remember deciding to give it to God and trust Him to work it out for His glory. I just had to let it go to Him.

God is so faithful.

As I have learned, "Let go and let God", this clarifies how it happens. Thank you God. You are awesome.
