I finished reading Riverfonz' (Dr. Stan's) article "Soli Deo Gloria" in the current PROCLAMATION! on page 3, with tears in my eyes.
My wife, Bonnie, and I were so blessed by your story, your honesty of sharing, and the miracle of God's Power in restoring Marti to health.

I love your term "retrospectoscope" .... leave it to a doctor to create that one! Great!

My wife and I are also deeply involved in re-visiting the great Reformation platform and exposing our minds, under the daily tutorage of the Spirit of Truth, to the unspeakably glorious message of the great foundation of sola gratia,
and we too, being exposed to the great Reformation doctrines, have a new awesome understanding of the Holiness, Might, Omnipotence and Sovereignty of Adonai. My own discovery of Soli Deo Gloria (To God alone be Glory)has so impressed me I scarce can move far in any writing or discussion without being made consciously aware of it, and endeavoring to modify my speech to more consistently give all glory to the Holy Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Our election by and in Grace alone, is such a marvelous thing, the sense of being loved so much by His Majesty moistens my eyes as well as my heart with a growing love, and humbleness that borders on unbelief - it is so wonderful, it seems impossible! Yet it IS true.

David uses the word "praise" to God 153 times in the Psalms. Psalm 150 seems totally appropriate as a platform for all worship.

I join you Stan, and the Psalmist in saying: "I will ever praise YOU." Ps 71:6 lp And vs 14, "I will praise you more and more." NIV

Thank you Stan for your wonderful testimony.

Jess

Thank you Jess,
Marti and I send our best regards to you and Bonnie, but I would not want to forget your Retriever Koda either, being fellow dog lovers. Thank you for all your grace filled posts. You have a way of expressing God's sovereignty and grace in such an eloquent way. I like your reference above to the Psalms with regard to praises. When Marti's condition looked rather hopeless, it was to the Psalms that I got my strength, and the Lord ministered to me in my sorrow through those Psalms in a very special way. Also Reformation theology with its emphasis on the sovereignty of God was such a comfort in our time of need. We have another reason to rejoice today, as we just got news that Marti will be eligible for a Cochlear implant in her left ear, when she lost all of her hearing in that ear during the time of her stroke. So I will say it again,

SOLI DEO GLORIA--To God be the glory!

Stan,
I was blessed reading your story also. Your last name is a familiar one. Perhaps some relatives of yours were in one of the churches I was in as a child and teenager growing up in Southern Californian Adventism.

I'm also glad to hear the good news about Marti!

grace always,
cindy

Stan,
God is so good and so awesome. When I see how He cares for each of us I am awed. Your wife and you must be rejoicing because of the cochlear implant. I rejoice with you and thank God with you for His goodness.

I got mine in KC area in the past day or two (was out of town, so not sure the exact day). My son asked if I was going to "sit around and read all day" since I couldn't put it down after walking back from the mailbox ... Something about wanting breakfast.... Very encouraging reports from Uganda. Got through Stan's story and the back cover before duty called loud enough for me to put it down! :-)

It was mailed three weeks ago this coming Monday from So California. It can quite literally take 3 or 4 weeks to get delivered.

Thanks Goldenbear,
I fly into Missoula when I visit and my brother meets me there and we drive to Helena. It is lovely country. I understand now why Montana is called Big Sky Country. It is God's Country here on earth.

I grew up in Montana and still consider it home. I lived about 45 miles west of Helena.

Goldenbear,
My brother in Helena would like to be in contact with you. Do you mind if I send Colleen my brother's name and e-mail address for her to send to you. Right now he attends a Messianic Jewish congregation in Helena on Saturday and on Sunday they go to another church. He used to attend the Celebration SDA church in Loma Linda or is it in Redlands, when he lived in California.

Diana, there's a good chance my sister knows your brother from Celebration in Redlands. I'd like to ask her. If you can share your brothers name please e-mail me.

Goldenbear,
My brothers's computer is at his in-laws house and it is not checked very often. So, when he will contact you, I do not know. Wish I could say more about that.
