While discussing the effects of Katrina a couple of the people on R/S have mentioned the predictions made by someone named Soo. They also have given each other this URL: http://www.omegaprojectministries.org/truestories.html#behind

Could someone who is in the know enlighten me about this person?

I have friends and family who believe she is the new prophet for the SDA church. She is supposed to have predicted that the ocean would rise up and come inland (the tsunami), that Bush would be re-elected, and that a horrible catastrophe would hit the USA in 2005 (Katrina?)

I guess we are a prophet oriented people... Ellen White, David Koresh, Danny Shelton, Soo, what next?

Yeah, not so much. Soo is the new adventist prophet, not officially, but she predicted that something big will happen in USA and after that will come the Sunday law. Surely Katrina is considered this big event.

Here is a right wing conservative SDA website who thinks she is a phony www.sdadefend.com/Checkpoints/Check-points-feb-05.htm

I did not know that Danny Shelton considers himself to be a prophet, or is considered by others to be one. Interesting!

I've never heard him call himself a prophet. He just says that God revealed this or that to him, God told him blah blah blah, God is not pleased with..., God says that you are supposed to...

But I have heard plenty of other people call him a prophet.

Yup. When people admonish the public to do things because God told THEM what should happen--Run!

The Bible is our source of truth and reality, not someone's self-proclaimed revelation from God.

I am sorry...but that is the biggest pile of malarky I have ever read. Pure SDA "aren't we special" heresy!!! She spent 2-years learning the health message, hydrotherapy, etc.? What does the bible say about this? Those that seek to save their lives lose them? If time is so short...why did God send her to 2-years of the health message...she should have been out proclaiming HIM!

Plus, this being told her that her Bhuddist mother is in heaven? Sounds like Universalism to me...a belief very prevalent in SDA circles.

Do not fear this so-called prophet!

I also went and read the Ellenized SDA person who sees Soo for what she is. Though he is promoting Ellen as a prophet, clearly he can see Soo is false. He makes some really good points...he hit the nail on the head when he said that angels wouldn't be singing songs of the redeemed in heaven..."when our eyes close in death..." angels, don't die!

My SDA preacher brother believes in her and had my mom scared and trying to keep the Sabbath better...it's sad.

Right on, Pheeki!

I have a question. Do the angels sing the original words in "Rock of Ages"--the "heretical" version about soaring to worlds unknown at death, or do they sing the Adventistized version that's in the SDA hymnal? And what did they sing before the SDAs changed the words? Do the angels believe that when they die they will go to heaven? LOL!!!

It's amazing how the SDAs believe in "having to be SDA in order to be saved" AND Universalism at the same time, but they do!

They do it by deleting JESUS from their "gospel"! You either get to heaven by being SDA and keeping the Sabbath, or by "living up to the light you have."

In other words, they totally dismiss the ONLY way to heaven--JESUS CHRIST!!! :-(

Pheeki, actually she wasn't told that her mother IS in heaven, only that she would be. I think they would reject a "prophet" who didn't teach their "state of the dead" doctrine!

Also notice that she prayed to the "Second God" and that her mother will be in heaven, maybe because she believed in the "Second God"! Uh, I'm sorry but there is only ONE God!
