I wanted to get some more seasoned wisdom from you generous brothers and sisters before I respond, because I do feel called to respond, although in my flesh I'd rather not! This is what I have written:
"I recieved your note today and thank you for your concern. I ask your forgiveness if my perhaps too bold reply caused you pain. As for my "current spiritual position", it can be summed up in this verse, ìAs for me, God forbid that I should boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world died long ago, and the worldís interest in me is also long dead.î Galatians 6:14 I will trust and pray that this is your position as well.
I consider you my brother in Christ and will keep you in prayer. God Bless,
Marcell
"The cross of Christ if foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those of us who are being saved , it is the very power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18

Would you give me your honest feedback before I send this?

As others have said already, Beautiful!

Praying that God's Word will do it's work in each of us, and especially with your friend.

Just as Jesus would do--answer with scripture.

Thanks for your feedback. I did add one sentence after the the one where I ask for forgiveness - "You did not ask me to share my heart with you and I did so without your permission. I am sorry."

I put it in letter form - no more email.
I really feel a peace around it. Like I have come out of a trial with stonger faith and more dependence on Jesus than ever.

That sense you have, Marcell, is the Holy Spirit affirming His protection and power in you. Praise God!
