I just read an ad in our local Christian magazine that Leo Schreven is going to be at Oral Roberts Univesity Mabee Center next month. He is appearing with the Palmetto State Quartet and Kevin Spencer & Friends. They are advertised as Tulsa Southern Gospel Worship Gathering.

This is the question are these gospel groups Adventist? They are preforming in several churches in the area, I do not know if Schreven was with them or not, but our church advertised for one of the concerts in our newletter! The ad i n the magazine also says you can get tickets at "many area churches" or online. I have been unable to find what churches they are talking about. If this is so I want to warn the churches here in town about Schreven. Any info you have about these groups would be appreciated. I just found this out last night and have not been able to get ahold of anyone at my church.

I did a search on Leo Schreven. He was recruited by Joe Crews to work with Amazing Facts. He has been at various SDA churches. At one seminar he was offering $1000 for a text that shows the Sabbath was changed from Saturday to Sunday. Need I say more.
I would not go see or hear him. After what I read I would not trust him.

All I could find about Kevin Spencer is that all those in that group are born again Christians. Maybe Kevin Spencer and Friends do not realize Schreven's SDA background and if they do they think he is just another Christian.
Schreven gives seminars across the USA and charges over $200 per individual. I have nothing against people making a living doing seminars. It did not say what kind of seminars they are.

I did another Netscape search and found Schreven was an SDA minister at one time. He was recruited by Joe Crews to work with Amazing Facts and then went to It Is Written. In 2003 he left It is Written. He is listed as an evangelist on the websites I looked at. He holds seminars at various SDA churches. When I find more I will list it.

I was doing more research and found that the Southern Gospel Worship Gathering is sponsored by business in the area. It looks, to me, that the singing groups are non SDA. What I learned about Schreven is that he gets businesses to sponsor his seminars, than, they set up a booth and he is given a part of what they take in. He is SDA.

Thanks for your searching. I could not find anything else either about the signing groups other than one was married in the Baptist church. I may just e-mail them and ask them if they are a certain denomination or not.

Violet, if you're emailing them anyway, ask them about Schreven's Adventism. You might put a warning in their ears about his agenda.

Schreven not only does business/money seminars, he still also does SDA evangelistic meetings. He's often on 3ABN. Probably he doesn't publicize his Adventist evangelist status when he does business seminars, but he does them. Richard calls him the "machine gun" guy because he talks SO FAST and spits out his texts so rapid-fire that his audiences couldn't question him if they wanted to; they don't have time to figure out the problems.

He's quite the showman.

Colleen, You are so right. When we were still Adventist we help host a Leo Screven meeting here. That was why his picture jumped out at me in the magazine. It kind of funny, as I look closely at the singers, they are wearing jewlery, which leads me to believe they are not SDA.

I just spoke with the company that is putting on the program. She is a member of an independent Sunday going church here in town. She did not know Leo had any affiliation with SDA. She does now--in a loving way. The others are not SDA she gets groups together and they rent out churches to use. Her goal is to build relationships--but she says she will not compromise on the the essentials. Please pray for this so that the innocent will not be drawn into his All Power Seminar they are starting 2 days after the meeting.
