Can't believe the stuff they come up with.

Finally, a manual intended to help SDA's who never know what to say and how to witness to members of other religions. I wish this manual had been available back when I got stumped on this witnessing thing - all I could do was say we were like all the other Christians except we kept the real Sabbath, didn't smoke, drink, eat pork, wear jewelry, etc. This is like a witnessing for 'dummies' and a reference for the rest of them who do know what to say.

Curiously, I couldn't find any reference about Jesus, loving others, etc.

If you want to check it out go to www.revivalsermons.org. This manual is in pdf format and can be found at:http://www.revivalsermons.org/witnessing/witness.pdf

After skimming through the manual, my analysis is that it's so much "logic" and so little Scripture! And it basically boils down to finding a common connection with someone, and then logically explaining why the IJ must be so, which in turn makes keeping all 10 Commandments (especially the Sabbath) so essential.

I read several chapters of the manuel. It's corney. So far the only text I have come across is one in Rev. about the judgement. I think I'll avoid reading the rest of the manuel.

I went back and read every word of that entire booklet. What I learned that the SDA church believes salvation is like train tracks, you need tow, the track of faith along with the track of works. If this is really what the SDA church teaches then it cannot claim to be Prostatent as the Prostatent belief is faith through grace in Jesus Christ along. good works are the result of faith not the other way around. I also learned that the booklet is ment to wittness to thoase who are already Christian. At the beginning of the booklety it says it is ment for wittnessing to Baptists, Penticostal, Catholics and others. It does not mention athetists, agnostics, Hindus, Moslems, Jews, Hare Krishnas, Buddhists, and other non-Christians. However, having said that I do want to say that it is probably a good thing the SDA's are not focusing on the non-Christians because then the Holy Spirit can have first access at these people with exposing them to Christianity. Every chapter it seemed had the focus on judgement. I also found out that Martin Luther had the misfortune of dying before God was through with leading him to the truth. That just about made me puke. That is one really weird booklet.

Hello again Olga! I had not actually noticed that it was you that posted this information about the witnessing until now.

I just read it through and became a little angry because i got a whiff of Jehovah's Witnesses from the approach.

When they come to the door THEY too have their PITCH fine-tuned for you to fall into their trap.

Its always something about what is happening in the world today and what do you think.....e.t.c

As i read it i was becoming to fall under it's spell for a moment and could discern a spirit of magicianship.

HOW PATRONISING to say that The Adventists LOVE ALL these denominations, especiallyas they are always knocking Catholicism.

I have been a saleswoman from time to time and i can smell a sales pitch a mile off!!

It was like just fall under our spell as we pose questions that will lead you to answer in the affirmative before you have even realised it!

I also noticed on that site that you CANNOT raise a new topic and you CANNOT RESPOND to anything that has been posted. Also you CANNOT say anything against Ellen White/NOT CHRIST....ELLEN WHITE!!!!

That in itself shows the element of control in that forum. So there is NO freedom of speech unless you are prepared to talk about THEIR topic and not disagree with Ellen White?

It was like a box of magic tricks to me. Desperation to fit into the mainstream church life of which they are not, in order for the listener to fit into THEIR way of interpreting the Scriptures through a process of elimination.

Adventists want THEIR SPIRIT to do the work alongside GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT, but how can the spirit move and flow when you have a SET of previously prepared questions.

The Holy Spirit moves in a mysterious way and those REPETITIOUS sets of questions are mere religious dogma!

I was just looking at the link to revivalsermons concerning the dream of Hershal Hughes.

It appears that my obser ation of a list that i read on the site earlier IS NOT TRUE

It does seem as if YOU CAN respond to a post and YOU CAN raise another topic.

I read something to the contrary though on the opening page, it was a list at the bottom right of the page.

Sorry if i have been mistaken
