Hi everyone. I use oneplace.com for some time for a few minister's I listen to. J. Vernon McGee, John Macarthur, Chuck Swindoll, just to name a few.

Anyways...I was surprised to see Doug Batchelor in the listing. It's true.

See for yourself.

I get D. Bachelor's Amazing Facts every Sunday Morning from 7-8 am. I just switch channels. The doctrine is so deceptive. This morning he was talking on the idol of Daniel, that had the head of gold, etc. I did not listen to the rest, but I know he would seguay into the IJ.

Jtree, I will just praise God that J.Vernon McGee, John MacArthur, Chuck Swindoll, and Alistair Begg are on there. All four of these men I enthusiastically endorse also. As for Doug Batchelor being on, well, this is more proof that there is such a lack of discernment and ignorance on the part of the evangelical community, but again, I will give credit to the other four teachers.

Doug Bachelor is actually dangerous because he has so much charisma... he's a close friend of my family.. and of my unbelieving family as well... who has remained unbelievers for a reason. Add great big talker to great big salesman plus believe the lies you are selling and add in lots of charisma, and you have yourself DANGER. I'd love to see God rescue him from the lies. He would be a wonderful witness for the Lord if he ever saw the truth and admitted it.

Nearly a year ago, I saw Doug Batchelor listed on One Place, much to my chagrin. I sent two emails to Oneplace. First, I asked whether they had any SDAs on the listing, when they responded NO, I copied and pasted whole articles from Batchelor's site and sent to them. The response then: "Thank you, we will look into it."

I felt it was a brush-off, for I continue to see the SDA-Bachelor being featured with picture and all.

Since then,I am even more discriminating about ministries I see listed on One Place. Unless they are ones I know who are authentic-like the people listed above- and a few others, I ignore the ministry. Sorry if I sound cowardly. "Once bitten, twice shy."

Maybe more people should bring this to the attention of the administration at OnePlace.

When I first went to the link above I did not get DBatchelor. Today I went there and there it was with his CD and other atuff.
Like you B. Morgan, I am very careful to whom I listen. If they say anything unBiblical or it sounds like SDAs, I turn them off.

Bmorgan,

Noted and you make a reasonable request. I just finished leaving a message under the "Contact Us" heading. I asked them if they knew he preached the following:

1. Satan is the ultimate sin-bearer as the second goat of Leviticus 16 represents Satan in SDA lore.

2. Perfection of character before the return of Christ is a requirement of salvation.

3. That the atonement was NOT completed on the cross but is rather being completed as we speak and has been since Oct 22, 1844 where Christ is judging the saints.

4. That Christ had a sinful nature.

So it was in no way comprehensive but enough to get the point across.

Good idea, Bmorgan!

I just left the following message at oneplace:

I was wondering how a Seventh-day Adventist minister, Doug Batchelor, got into oneplace.com - Is oneplace.com now accepting the Seventh-day Adventist Church teachings in it's ministry? I was warned about oneplace.com as a result and will pass on the warning to others if this wasn't just an accidental oversight.

I want to make mention about J. Vernon McGee, on the Thru the Bible series. Before he died, I would listen to this 5 year Bible study (I still get to listen). When he got to Leviticus..he would put in his message about his Adventist neighbor, that there were parts in Leviticus that his neighbor just did not GET. He was very stressful on those points. It sent chills up my spine. I loved that man..and I thank God I can still listen to him, though he's gone to be with the Lord for quite awhile. I still enjoy listening to his sermons.

Lynne,
I just went to the second link you put above. In there it says ...."it incorporates inspired counsel". Gee, I wonder who/what that is??? I think we all know.
I am so glad, that no matter who does what, God is still in charge. His will, will be done.
Thank you God, You are AWESOMME.

BMorgan, I fired off a response to that effect when I discovered this back in December. To this date, I never got a response. Batchelor must have them all bamboozeled at oneplace.

Diana,

"I get D. Bachelor's Amazing Facts every Sunday Morning from 7-8 am." The thing that is amazing is that he calls them "facts".

I met him last year when he did his "series" at the GC, he SURE isn't the same man in person, when you meet him one on one, as he is on t.v. Lost my respect for both he and Mark Finley after dealing with them at the GC.

Someone on here said he got kicked by George Vandeman while singing for his evangelistic series...I wish I could remember who wrote that. I couldn't believe it. Seems arrogant!!!

I received a response from oneplace this morning and responded. Here is our correspondence.

Hello

Thank you for your recent inquiry and concerns with one of our Oneplace.com broadcast ministries. We would like to investigate your complaint further. Could you please provide links to any resources you might have with information about your concerns so that we might gather more information?

Thank you for visiting OnePlace!

Jennifer

Jennifer,

Thank you very much for your reply. Absololutely.

Amazing Facts (a Seventh-day Adventist Ministry -Doug Batchelor)

You have Doug Batchelor listed at the following link: http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/bible_answers_live/

Here is his website: http://www.amazingfacts.org/
on his website you can see here it says it is a Seventh-day Adventist
ministry: http://www.amazingfacts.org/news/read_news.asp?ID=68

Also, you will see "Amazing Facts" at the upper left corner of the following link which states they are a "Seventh-day Adventist" ministry:
http://www.empoweredchurch.org/

It is common for the Seventh-day Adventist Church not to disclose themselves often and make themselves appear as traditional evangelical christians. They have used this deceptive tactic for years which sometimes works for them. It is a tactic also commonly used by churches such as the Unification Church (Moonies).

You will also find them under the following Seventh-day Adventist directories and links:

http://sdasaints.com/
http://www.tagnet.org/eastwenatchee/links.htm
http://www.dennisberlin.com/adventlinks.html
http://www.adventistreview.org/article.php?id=9

Thank you Jennifer and bless you in advance for removing this link!

In Christ.

It was JWD or Jess that got kicked by George Vandeman, and Jess, if you see this, maybe you want to relate the story again.

Lynne, great letter to OnePlace. It's important expose those wolves in sheep's clothing.

JTree, thank you for sharing about J.Vernon McGee's study in Levitus. I really like him too. Years ago, when I was Adventist, I would turn off the radio whenever his program, Thru the Bible came on the radio. After leaving Adventism, I wanted to kick myself for my folly over those "wasted" years.

Below is a link for a free download of the 5 Year study-Genesis to Revelation. I will listen to Leviticus.

Lynne,

I received the EXACT same response from Jennifer at OnePlace.com today. I'm working on compiling my list of excerpts and links for her, all of which are to various files on Bachelor's own website, making the case for their belief in the sinful nature of Christ, the IJ, requirement of sinless perfection by us (but with the help of Christ, naturally), you're lost if you eat pork, you're lost if you don't keep the Sabbath, etc. I'm urging that she spend time perusing the AF site and see what it is he and his ministry teaches.

Heretic,

That is great. Hopefully this will help.

I saw this old link when I was researching Doug Batchlor earlier. Love that picture of Charles Stanley on the Adventist website and how the article says how well received Adventists are now by other denominations.

Lynne and Heretic,
I would be sure to point out his teaching about all other churches being the Harlot or daughters of the harlot. There can't be much better than sharing a ministry with someone who is teaching, behind your back, that you aren't really Christian.

Rick,

That's a great suggestion and I will include that. Would you mind giving me a link to that quote so that I may pass it along? I know I've read that several times but couldn't go directly to it.

Thanks!

"According to Dr. Frank Wright, president and chief operating officer of the NRB, the association's members are glad to have Adventist broadcasters in their midst as co-workers in ministry.

"I think the National Religious Broadcasters has progressed to where people don't think about denominational differences," he told ANN. "These ministries are all part of the body of Christ." "

He seems confused that SDAs equally think we are all part of the same body of Christ. The ministries cited in the article specifically try to get people OUT OF those other "denominations". It is all smoke and mirrors. No doubt evangelicals try to accept adventists...but I've yet to hear of an SDA say to a former they were glad they were still participating in the body of Christ somewhere.
