This is incredible! I don't see how anyone can be so deluded as to believe the veracity of her statements. I don't see how I could for almost 50 years!

Her degree of boldness is beyond words. It is positively frightening -- the powerful (and in my opinion satanic) sway that she held over people. As a 5th generation SDA, I am shocked, angry -- and the full gamut of feelings. And even today she holds a mesmerizing influence over as many victims as her contemporary, Joseph Smith, does. Any "critical" statements are automatically attributed by believers to some "anti-Ellen White" Internet site. This is truly a mission field that needs our most earnest prayers. Praise God that the truth IS getting out. I am just in awe at the emotional damage this woman has done.

From Ellen White:
"August 24, 1850, I saw that the "mysterious rapping" was the power of Satan; some of it was directly from him, and some indirectly, through his agents, but it all proceeded from Satan. (Early Writings, p. 59)"

"I saw that soon it would be considered blasphemy to speak against the rapping, and that it would spread more and more, that Satan's power would increase and some of his devoted followers would have power to work miracles and even to bring down fire from heaven in the sight of men. (Early Writings, p. 59)"

From the Fox sisters:
"Margaret Fox's Confession
"My sister Katie was the first one to discover that by swishing her fingers she could produce a certain noise with the knuckles and joints, and that the same effect could be made with the toes. Finding we could make raps with our feet - first with one foot and then with both- we practiced until we could do this easily when the room was dark. No one suspected us of any trick because we were such young children...all the neighbors thought there was something, and they wanted to find out what it was. They were convinced some one had been murdered in the house. They asked us about it, and we would rap one for the spirit answer "yes", not three, as we did afterwards. We did not know anything about Spiritualism then. The murder, they concluded, must have been committed in the house. They went over the whole surrounding country, trying to get the names of people who had formerly lived in the house. They found finally a man by the name of Bell, and they said that this poor innocent man had committed a murder in the house, and that these noises came from the spirit of the murdered person. Poor Bell was shunned and looked upon by the whole community as a murderer. As far as spirits were concerned, neither my sister nor I thought about it...I have seen so much miserable deception that I am willing to assist in any way and to positively state that Spiritualism is a fraud of the worst description. I do so before my God, and my idea is to expose it...I trust that this statement, coming solemnly from me, the first and most successful in this deception, will break the force of the rapid growth of Spiritualism and prove that it is all a fraud, a hypocrisy and a delusion." New York World Newspaper, October 21, 1888"

"They produced the rapping sounds, they admitted, first by using an apple tied to a string, which they thudded against the wall of a darkened room by tugging the string, and later by simply popping the joints of their big toes. They then began an "exposure tour," and amazingly, audiences still came to see them perform. (People Magazine, Oct. 25, 1999, p. 125)"

The veracity of Samuele Bacchiocchi? Quote: "This proved to be true; a body was found."

From Samuele Bacchiocchi, Ph. D., Professor of Theology, Andrews University
http://www.biblicalperspectives.com/endtimeissues/eti_04.html
"Spiritualism and the Revival of Interest in the Soul. Public interest in the life of the soul after death was soon revived with the publication of The Coming Race (1860) by Bulmer-Lytton. This book influenced a host of writers who contributed to making occult practices fashionable in British society. In America, the public interest in communicating with the souls of the dead was ignited by the seances held by the Fox sisters who lived in Hydesdale, New York. On March 31, 1848, they conducted a seance in which the alleged spirit of a murdered man, who called himself William Duesler, informed them that if they dug in the basement, they would find his corpse. This proved to be true; a body was found."

Gilbert, I understand what you're experiencing. I think all of us have shared that growing amazement, disbelief, anger, even shame at having been duped.

It is truly astonishingóand I agree that her hold on the church is satanic. There are only two places in the universe: in Christ, and in darkness. Her visions are not from Christ.
