It's coming out in this Proclamation. We'll also have an announcement on the website hopefully by next week.

It will be February 17-19, beginning @6:00 Friday evening and continuing through church on Sunday. We have confirmed that Dale Ratzlaff, Mark Martin, Clay Peck, Richard Fredericks, and Greg Taylor will all be here. They will be leading discussion groups as well as telling their stories Sat. night and taking audience questions.

The cost for the weekend will be $65 and will include snacks Friday night and three meals on Saturday as well as printed materials, etc.

Elizabeth Inrig will teach a seminar on inductive Bible study, Gary Inrig will give a devotional, Firday night we'll have an FAf meeting, and we'll also be doing the "inviter event" on Sat. late afternoon where 6 or 7 people will tell their faith stories. We're also planning some great worship with Scott and Sharon Strum leading. They are Trinity church members both of whom graduated from LLU Med School but have never been SDA. Scott works at Loma Linda and has personal concerns about Adventism from his own relationships.

I just want to let you know that on the home page of this website there are now two links that will take you to Trinity Church's website. One link will give the details of the FAF Weekend in February, 2006, and from there (or from the other link on our home page) you can register for the weekend online.

I hope many of us can meet each other there!

Colleen, At this weekend whingdig are you going to get a group rate at a motel or are each of us on our own to find lodging and make early reservations? If the latter is the case will we be given directions from our various motels to the meeting site? What about food? Is there a Sturart Anderson's around there? I really need to know these sorts of details.

Susan, I looked it up on the Web and I can answer your question about Stuart Anderson's. There is one in San Bernardino one town over from Redlands where we will be.

Stuart Anderson's
San Bernardino
290 E. Hospitality Lane, CA 92408
(909) 885-7551

I knew we had one close to where I live but that is 35-40 miles away and a long distance to go for steak. I'm guessing the one in SB is about 5 miles away.

OK, Richard, I now have dinner planned. What about where I'll be sleeping? Oh, I just know I'll get lost. I am going to need exact driving directions to each place I plan to be at. Oh, I remember now. We get our choice of vegetarion or meat entries at the catered meal. I'll opt for the vegetarian then do my own thing at Sturart Anderson's on the drive home. I guess it'll work out. I'm having anxiety thinking about pulling all the details into place. BTW, Richard, I left a message for you on the prayer section of this forum.

Thanks Susan, I'll check there. I haven't had the time to read everything and even less time to post. I just need my quiet time. :-)

Susan, we can give directions from the hotel to the church if you need them. It is very easy to get there--Mapquest of Google Map would have step-by-step directions.

The group rate issue is more difficult. I've contacted one of the hotels, and they require us to reserve specific numbers of rooms and to pay significant advance deposits on them. They also have certain rules for cancelling, etc. Our problem is that since we've never done this before, we really have no idea how many rooms to reserve in advance, nor whether or not we might need to reserve rooms at more than one hotel.

As it stands now, everyone is on their own for lodging, although if we knew that, say, we could guarantee a need for 20 or 30 or 50 rooms by the end of the month, we might be able to reserve them. I know some will need hotel rooms, and some will not know until much closer to the date whether or not they will come. I also know that quite a few people have friends or family in the area where they will stay.

At this point, we do not have a group rate on rooms because of the above problems!

Colleen,
I signed up for the reunion on line, last night, for me and MLB. I will be staying with her and she has said she would like to go to some of the meetings with me. As for me I want to go to all the meetings and meet every one there.
I really look forward to meeting everyone.
Love to all my Christian Family.

Please, Ket me know if anywhere very close to trinity Church is a moderately priced motel. A Best Western, a Good Nite Inn, a motel 6, in that range. Thanks.

Hi, All of you lovely people,
I was talking to MLB tonight and told her again I was going to the reunion and she repeated she wants to go to ALL of it, even Sunday services. I gave her the dates, which she wrote down and when I make travel arrangements, she and her children or grandchildren will get me at the airport. Praise God for working on her and bringing her to those meetings.
I am going to let the other sister, GAL, know about the public meeting at 4:30 on Saturday. She lives in Riverside also and can drive over if she wants to do so. I hope she will. Keep praying for her also, please.
I am so looking forward to the reunion, so I can meet all the people I only know by writing or small photos. God is so awesome for providing us with a Christian Family that is bigger than any I have ever known.

Good going, Diana. Colleen, seeing as how this FAF convention will be in Riverside, a SA Mecca will some really super-SDA spys be showing up so they can plan their counter-stradgety? You know what EGW said about those who leave the truth in the last days. It's not words of endearment.

So, Susan, God is mightier than EGW. Has been and always will be. There is no one to fear with God on our side.

I want to remind everyone that the FAF weekend is coming Feb. 17-19. You can sign up until January 15. The price is $65 apiece and includes snacks on Friday, three meals on Saturday, and printed materials/handouts.

You can register online by clicking on the link on the home page of this website. All the information re: the weekend is available by following the link.

Regarding child care: the church will not be able to provide child care, but the church does have a list of "super-sitters" who have gone through training by the child care staff at church who would be available on an individual basis to watch kids at your hotel.

We're really looking forward to meeting as many of you as can attend!

Colleen,

I have a quick question. Where is the Saturday evening meeting being held on the FAF weekend. I saw a reference to the weekend on the Home Page of this forum but no directions and when going to the church page the Saturday meeting is not listed in the events etc. I"m not sure how people who are interested will know where to go etc. :-)

Will the Friday night meeting still be held in the same place? I've enjoyed the few times I've attended Friday night, it is just hard to get there with all the traffic and my home responsibilites. Please let me know when and where it will be. Thanks.

I guess those are the only two meetings a person who is not registered can attend, and I'd like to come to them if possible.

In Christ,

Richard

The Saturday night meeting will be held in the worship center at Trinity Church, 1551 Reservoir Road, Redlands, 7:00-9:00 PM.

Friday evening will be in the ministry center, room 102, at Trinity church at 7:00. Technically, Friday night is also for registered guests, but you'd be welcome.

Colleen,

I'm sorry I had no idea that the regular Friday night meeting had been closed and limited to only registered guests. If I had known I would not have "invited" myself to it. Much as I'd love to spend more time with each of you I believe it might be less intrusive if I stay away that night.

I only regret I did not register by the deadline. I knew I would not be able to attend everything because of family issues but I intended to register and sort of consider it a contribution to the ministry.

Part of December and most of January found us with a homeless guy sleeping on our couch, since he had nowhere but his car to sleep in. Though I feel God brought him into our life it added potential "confusion" and friction into a small house. When he finally left I realized that the deadline was past and that while He (God) opens one door to help the homeless He sometimes closes others. It will teach me not to get distracted ! ! :-)

Each of you traveling this next weekend are in my prayers and I ask a continuation of your prayers for me. Things are back in a state of "flux" In my life but God is VERY good and I see His hand in all that happens. It sure develops one of two things, either patience or anger. I hope it is patience being developed in me. :-)

In Christ,

Richard
