My dear friends, the major players at R/S are at it again and they are being very cruel to each other as well. They are discussing Satan as an angel of light but have lapsed into discussing Jesus' status as God--was he equal to the father, was he a lesser God, and of course the Holy Spirit is rarely ever mentioned, or mention as though he is merely influential. Here is the link http://www.revivalsermons.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=895&start=30

I would have been shocked by this discussion while I was still an Adventist, and reading these words has horrified me now. I'm convinced that this is the result of intellectualizing God rather than honoring Him. This link will start you at about the third page in on the thread. Look for a post by Walk.

Pretty amazing dialogue! Reading such stuff always reconfirms my conviction that leaving SDA'ism behind is the best thing I've ever done!
It's pretty pitiful. What a contrast to the conversations here - where we can disagree but not call each other names!

Wow! Bizarre.

"According to inspired documentation, which I always provide on this forum, there are no two acceptable views on the same subject"

"If I may give my two cents worth... Somehow all these statements from the Bible and the SOP work together...they cannot be contradictory because the Bible is true, as is the SOP."

"Zeal, you ignored Isaiah 9:6."

"Ed; Your love of conflict knows no bounds."

I am so thankful for the Former Adventist Fellowship Forum, where we can voice our individual opinions with out fear of retribution, and still have the highest regard and respect for our dear fellow brothers and sisters. Thank you, Jesus for the sweet peace we find here.

I "lurk" at the R/S site every so often. As I read that "stuff" I cringe and thank God I am no longer any part of it. I see how they "talk" to each other and those with whom they disagree. I then reflect on how we "talk" to each other on this site and again I thank God for this web site where we can agree to disagree and not get or write nasty grams to each other. Thank You God for Colleen and Richard and for the forum. You are so awesome.

Okay, read it all. I thought it all sounded familiar. Then I remembered watching the video "Called to Be Free". The WWCG also believed the Godhead to be only two. The Holy Spirit was change the electrical charge eminating from the Father and Son. If memory serves me right it was that doctrine intially that drove the church to confess its error and join the body of Christ.

Oh, my--that thread is tedious. The arguments about Christ's nature are as old as Adventismóand apparently still active. George Knight, the Adventist historian, said in his annotations in the reprinted issue of Questions on Doctrine that there is a growing movement in Adventism that is returning to anti-Trinitarianism because that was the original Adventist position.

That thread and the attitudes there reminds me of Paul's admonition in Ephesians 4:1-6: "Make every effort to live lives worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spiritójust as you were called to one hope when you were called. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all."

I praise God for giving us His Spirit and for making us one in Him!

Belva, thanks for the link, but wow, don't skip the first two pages either. There are some really interesting exchanges between colporteur and walk in the dark. It looks like Colporteur has become an enemy to walk, as col would still like to defend the Trinity against walk's heresy. But go to page 2 where Larry Lyons admonishes Walk about contradicting the SDA view of Trinity, but even so commends Walk for his vigorous defense of Adventism and SOP against THOSE IN THE PAST WHO WERE SDA HATERS, AND TRIED TO TAKE SIEGE OF THIS WEBSITE! Wow! is that good? I wonder who he was talking about? It couldn't have been Belva, Jeremy, Diana, and Stan by any chance--huh?

Imagine, what they are saying. It is perfectly alright to deny the deity of Christ, but if anyone comes along and defends the true gospel and attacks their false prophet, then we are taking seige. Has O'Ffill said anything more to Walk? It looks like I am going to have to email him and ask him about this again. Unbelievable!

That is the absolute center of it, Stan. But then we knew it at the time, didn't we. It is too bad that one cannot defend the gospel and Adventism at the same time. Perhaps if they could see fit to acknowledge the truth about their go-between prophet there would be some hope, but I don't see that happening any time soon. They had the same opportunity that the WCG had, and they chose their salaries over living in a state of grace. So sad.

I agree with you also, Belva.
I did not know how far away Adventism was from the Bible until I left it 2 years ago.
Two years ago, I left Adventism for God. Thank you God, You are awesome.

Colleen wrote above, "I praise God for giving us His Spirit and for making us one in Him." How true that is. Here we are from all over the US and other parts of the world and we have learned to love Jesus. The Holy Spirit has entered our lives and keeps us close to God, teaches us and corrects us, when needed. We agree to disagree over things that are not essential to salvation. We do agree on what is important to salvation, Jesus Christ.
Thank you God. You are awesome.

Oh my, isn't that interesting. Wonder if they lurked here and realized how ridiculous they sounded. I know that Walk_In_The_Light was bounced from their forum because he just wouldn't give up on trying to prove that The Trinity was a "Roman Catholic" doctrine and thus he would have nothing to do with it. Pastor O'Ffill tried reasoning with him and reminded him on several occasions that The Trinity was in the SDA list of basics. Well, dear Walk ignored the Good Pastor and was excluded from posting rights as a result. I think that Pastor O'Ffill also purged a great many of Walk's posts, and it is just possible that he removed one or more whole threads to restore peace to his website.
