I left the SDA Church over 2 years ago, although I have not requested my name be removed from the books. And even if I did, I seriously doubt the little church I attended would remove my name, because they are so small.
Anyhow, I have been attending a Messianic Jewish Congregation for almost a year and really love the services. I have tried to get my wife to go and she always has something to do at the SDA church. She holds several offices, and I would bet money that they have loaded her up with them in an attempt to keep her there.
I really need some good advice as to how to get her out of the SDA religion. Unfortunately she still works at the GC, and I am TRYING to get her to apply elsewhere. But I really fear she is comfortable working at the GC, and is afraid to step outside that comfort zone.
ANy suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to e-mail me at: jsbelljr83@verizon.net, I work long hrs and do not have much free time during the week to check this site. God-Bless, Sam

Sam,

Thank you for your comments. With intentional ambiguity and complexity, there are many sticking points that Adventism imposes on the unwary (i.e., cultural, doctrinal, para-scriptural authority, employment, attire, diet, etc.). These entangling holds, in a toxic-faith system, are very real and problematic. I fully concur and understand your passion to share your newly-found faith in Jesus Christ--especially with your spouse.

Since only God can change the human heart, it would seem ideal for you to simply allow your Spirit-led life to attract your wife to biblical Christianity. More importantly, pray for her unceasingly. After all, we serve an awesome, prayer-answering God.

Admittedly, there are some perplexities that can not be resolved this side of heaven. Sometimes God simply gives us the ability to cope with our adversities. Sometime soon, God will make up to us for all our day-to-day heartaches. May the faith of Job inspire us anew!
