We have been offered a church and facilities near Austin, TX, for Labor Day weekend. I have been wanting to host a "Gospel Summit" somewhat along the lines of what Brinsmead did in his Gospel days for some time now, and I am trying to find out how many might be interested so that we can get the plans rolling.

If you are interested, please write me at drpatti@msn.com. Everyone is welcome. It is possible that we might get local involvement also.

Drpatti,
Since you mentioned Brinsmead, I am grieved to find out that he has totally abandoned the faith. I will try to find the weblink to www.biblebb.com, but if you search for Brinsmead, there is documentation that he no longer believes that the historical Jesus ever existed. This after one of the greatest gospel presentations I have ever heard on a six tape series he recorded back in 1981--hard to believe.

You are right, Stan. It is incredible that he could simply leave the Gospel the way he did. You are also right in that he gave the most powerful Gospel presentations I have ever heard. I wish I had the resources to do what he did, because it is so difficult to find the pure, unadulterated Gospel in Christendom.

I am convinced, though, that God is in control and just as he used Brinsmead to do a powerful work both in SDAism and in the WWCOG, He will not let go of him.

BTW, do you have copies of those tapes or know where to get them? There are a lot of them online at http://www.presenttruthmag.com/realgospelradio.htm but many are not very clear.

I have the original tapes in a binder, which are of good quality. I think these tapes are still for sale on the Brinsmead web site. The presentation he gave was called "The Gospel against the Sectarian Spirit". There is a two tape section on Adventism that is priceless.

Apparently, he never was truly born again, and as one of John macArthur's associate pastors said on that website, Brinsmead would fit the Hebrews 6 man quite well.

God may not be finished with Robert Brinsmead yet. I am optimistic about him. Remember the experience of Paul? I believe God actually used Paul when he was still a cruel persecutor of the Christians. How? By scattering the flock to bear witness to the Gospel. God could certainly have struck him down earlier to get his full attention and thereby avoid suffering for many. Indeed, God is sovereign and we do not understand his ways.

My sentiments exactly, Dennis!
God's ways are much bigger than we are capable of perceiving.
