Dear friends I Just happend to get across a link to a website that seems to be a good scource for digging deeper in the history and life of Jesus. The link is: http://www.jesus-institute.org/ . It seems to give a good picture about state-of-the -art knowledge in Christology. As an adventist I decided a couple of years ago to move my focus to Jesus as an absolute center of theology. Books like "The Jesus I didnĄt know" by Philip Yancey was one step in that direction. The Jesus Movie (Zimmermann 1999) was another move. Just want to deal this experience, and enqurage others to let all theology and faith depend on the person Jesus Christ. The real Jesus. Jesus is my every breath. Without Him I would have no hope, no love, no life. He wraps His arms around me when I feel like I have failed beyond forgiveness and tells me that He can overcome every one of my shortcomings. He picks me up and allows me to look up to His face and see the love I know I do not deserve. He gives me the ability to take some small portion of that love and share it with others. His love for me allows me to see the good in everyday life. He is my Lord He is my Savior His name says it all Jesus. | ||

Violet, what a moving praise. I have found that this Jesus who is my hope, my love, and my life cannot and does not share my loyalty with any other person or practice. He asks me to trust Him completely, without trying to "prove" my love for Him by the practice of sacred days or foods or rules. He really is everything. Reality emanates from and honors Him; He does not exist to bless me. He has changed my wordview, and all creation, all the Bible, al that exists is for His glory and for the purpose of His will. He chooses us, and He gives us a role to play in His story. Colleen |
