Hello everybody!

Today ... very soon ... ill meet with my Adventist friend, we will however not study the doctrin of 1844 today. My friend is getting tired, she's telling me, both to read in English and also to hear that EGW is a liar.
So today we will watch a movie together, Waco: The Rules of Engagement, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120472/. I have seen it one time before .. and could not hold my tears back .. its really sad. Anyways I stumbled upon this movie while learning about SDA.

Do any of you have any experience, knowledge on the Branch Davidians?

Anywho, pray for us, pray that the spirit might talk to her and guide her into truth about SDA, giving her courage and a desire to know about the reality of SDA. And for me that I may get the strength to continue helping and witnessing to her.

God loves like no one else!!

Mwh, you can read about the Branch Davidians on their own website at http://www.sevenseals.com/main.html.

They have their roots in Adventism, especially Ellen White. They have a militant overtone, some believing that the time will come when God asks them to kill those who oppose truth.

David Koresh was associated with them, and before then he was an Adventist. In fact, he was a member of an SDA church in Hawaii in the 80s that was pastored by an old friend of my sister's from acadmy and college days, Charles Liu. (He is now deceased; he developed leukemia in the early 90s.)

The church has attempted to distance itself from Koresh, but the roots are undeniable, regardless of what the church says. He began to think of himself as a last day prophet, a notion derived from the SDA view of last day prophecy.

Adventism calls the Davidians an "offshoot" and claims no affiliation with them. They are, however, "shoots" from the same root.

With prayers for you and your friend,
Colleen

Mwh,

Here is an article I once posted that you may want to read: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/apocalypse/readings/waco.html

Her heart is likely in her church and Christ as well. Maybe you are putting too much ephasis on the errors of EGW and the SDA church. It may be a bit overwhelming for her.

If, for example, we as Christians have friends that are not Christian, and keep trying to show them the sins of the world and the consequences, and we keep trying to show them that they are not living in the truth, perhaps we could be exhausting ourselves as well.

Nobody can give sight to the blind, that is divine. But do not hesitate to speak truth.

1 Timothy 2-3This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus..

Just keep proclaiming the Lord, remind her constantly about the Lord.

2 Corinthians
15Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
