Hello everybody!
While reading about a false bible/new testament called "El CÛdigo Real" I learned that the SDA have made a revision of the Spanish bible Reina-Valera, and they call it Nueva Reina-Valera .. there is two editions of it 1990 and 2000, and of course they have changed portions of it to fit their Theology.
Now I'm gathering material about this to present to my SDA friend.
She does not have a NRV bible herself, but she got a Rumanian bible, I'm going to investigate if SDA has made a revision to the main Rumanian bible, if anyone know of the state of the bible used by SDA in Rumania please let me know.
Also I'm wondering about when CWB will be translated to Spanish and other languages. As far as I know its only available in English.
Please keep on praying for my Adventist friend, that she might see.

Can you share with us some of the changes you have noticed in the translation that the SDA's have revised?

It appears that the Jehovah's Witnesses like the SDA's Nueva Reina-Valera, as they quote from it in the Spanish translation of their magazine on their website: http://www.watchtower.org/languages/espanol/library/w/2004/10/1/article_01.htm
Unfortunately, even ellenwhite.org references the NRV (http://www.ellenwhite.org/espanol/egw20.htm), as does the Worldwide Church of God (http://www.wcg.org/espanol/folletos/encarnacion/llamadounidad.htm).
Here is an interesting link which talks about the SDA guy who translated the NRV ("with the assistance of Bible experts from many religions and Spanish countries"): http://www.southernunion.com/tidingspdf/May06Tidings.pdf (on page 31). He is 100 years old, but still revising his "Adventist Bible," and there is a new 2006 editon coming out.

AquÌ, el tÈrmino "alma" est· usado en sentido figurado. No alude a un alma que exista dentro de la persona, sino a la persona misma, a su vida...Esta Nueva Reina-Valera aclara este pasaje asÌ: "øQuÈ aprovecha al hombre, si gana todo el mundo y pierde su vida? (el subyarrado es mÌo).
Otros distintivos de esta VersiÛn.
...El conmovedor grito de angustis de Jes™s en el GetsemanÌ: "MI alma est· triste, hasta la muerte", en esta versiÛn queda m·s impresionante: "Estoy abrumado de tristeza, hasta el punto de morir" (el subrayado es mÌo)
5/ Palabras extraÒas. Sin extremar demasiado, se tratÛ de precindir de las palabras extraÒas al idioma espaÒol, que confunden a muchos; como "maranata", "seol", "hades". Estas palabras fueron traducidas como "sepulcro", ya que Èse es su sentido (el subrrayado es mÌo).
13/ ParÈntesis, corchetes. Todo lo que va entre parÈntesis en esta versiÛn, no pertenece al texto bÌblico; ha sido incluido para dar m·s informaciÛn. Los corchetes indican frases del Nuevo Testamento qu se hallan en unos manuscritos y faltan en otros.

Apocalipsis. El apÛstol Juan, desterrado en la isla de Patmos, despuÈs de haber recibido estas grandiosas visiones en un "dÌa del SeÒor" (Ap 1:10, lo que seg™n IsaÌas 58:13 es el s·bado)... El subyarrado es mÌo.
This is even worse than the Clear Word, since it is not called a paraphrase but is supposed to simply be an updated version of the historic Reina-Valera.

Por consiguiente, el tÌtulo de "EspÌritu de profecÌa", fundado en Apocalipsis 19:10, que dan a la profetisa, no existe (o no existÌa) en la Biblia, sino que est· sacado de una manipulaciÛn de ese pasaje de Apocalipsis 19:10. Pero esto ha sido hasta que, en 1990, el Adventismo ha participado en la ediciÛn de la Nueva Reina-Valera, que, seg™n reza en su p·g. primera, "Ahora ha sido actualizada, esclarecida y vertida en un estilo m·s ameno", y, en esta Biblia, han traducido, en Apocalipsis 19:10, "el espÌritu de profecÌa" (120/1089).
