The July/August issue of Proclamation is now available online. The printed version is being mailed this week. The front cover story is "Sanctification, it's who you know" by Lari Mobley. The editorial is by our copy editor, Cristine Cole, who writes about her discovery of security.

Betty McMinimy tells her faith story "From deception to the Gospel of Grace" on page three. My wife Colleen contributes her study "In Adam or in Christ: Where are you? This is the topic we have covered the past few weeks at our local Redlands Former Adventist Fellowship Bible study.

Dale Ratzlaff's contribution is "Christ follower, you are righteous." He talks about the divine order of salvation. You can't be Christ-like in order to be saved, but you are empowered to live more like Jesus after you are secure in your salvation.

After the letters section is an announcement that we are indeed having an FAF weekend next February 16-18 back at Trinity Church in Redlands, California. Start planning now to attend!

Then on the back page I tell my story of being fired from Loma Linda University, but only when it was God's will.

I pray that this issue is a blessing and encouragement to you. You may view it here: July/August Proclamation pdf

Richard

Richard, I haven't been around here for quite a while. Yet, something, perhaps Someone, woke me up tonight in order to log on. It's close to 12:30 a.m. here. I've been in bed since 11:00, but I woke up with a sudden urge to get out of bed, put on a robe, go downstairs, and log onto FAF. I think I understand why now. I'm going to log off now and spend sometime praying. I pray that the Lord will bless you, guide you, comfort you, and give you great peace as you step out in faith. May God richly bless your ministry Richard.

Thank you, Chris, for your encouragement and prayers, and for being sensitive to the Spirit. I was in a pit last night but Someone lifted me out.

Richard, I'm unable to open the .pdf file for the July/August Proclamation. I've tried it through the link in your message above and through the links at www.formeradventist.com. I keep getting the message, "This viewer cannot decrypt this document."

I wonder if it has something to do with the underscore in the document title. I discovered, when putting a .pdf file on my web site, that an underscore in the document title made it impossible to open.

Has anyone else been able to open this file?

I can open the file fine on this computer (Windows XP, Adobe Reader 7.0). However, on my other computer (Windows 98 SE, Adobe Reader 6.0) it won't open the file and I get the following error:

"There was an error opening this document. Bad encrypt dictionary"

I am able to open the May/June edition on the old computer, though. And all of the past editions do have an underscore in them.

Great issue! It was good getting to read it before I actually get it in the mail. Thanks.

Proclamation .pdf files need to be opened/read in Adobe Reader 7.0. You may download Reader 7.0 for free here:

Richard,
What a beautiful article. Your love for Jesus is very evident and I challenge any Adventist out there to find hatred or bitterness in your words. God not only used you for 17 years at LLU, He shaped and feed you for a ministry beyond your wildest dreams. I continue to faithfully pray for you and Colleen daily.

I am excited to see what He has in store for you, my friend!

Richard,
I will probably get my Proclamation while I am on my Alaska cruise, so I will read it when I get home.
I do pray for you, Colleen, and your boys.
Like Denise, I am excited to hear about what God has next for you. Take care my friends and brother and sister in Christ.
God is so awesome.

Could the pdf-files in the future be made so they are able to be opened with AR 6.0 ... a lot of people don't have 7.0 yet.

Futhermore its also a problem on Linux, most PDF-readers shiped on Linux can't open the new PDF-files and one has to do a manual upgrade to get AR 7.0 to read them.

Just 2 weeks ago I was one of those who couldn't use Adobe 7 because I had only Windows 98SE... now I have a new computer with XP. But it might be running Linux pretty soon and then I don't know whether it'll open the PDF files well or not.

Adobe Reader 7 runs on Linux as well, but is not installed by default on most systems. Most systems has some free software to read PDF files and at the moment most of them cant read PDF files for Adobe Reader 7.

I received my Proclamation while I was on vacation and finally saw it yesterday when I arrived home.
Richard, what a blessing to have 2 angels by your sides while you were fired. God is caring for you and has a work for you to do.
I continue to pray for you and your family.
We truly do have an awesome God.
Diana
