A Debtor to Mercy Alone

A debtor to mercy alone, of covenant mercy I sing;
Nor fear, with Thy righteousness on, my person and offíring to bring.
The terrors of law and of God with me can have nothing to do;
My Saviorís obedience and blood hide all my transgressions from view.

The work which His goodness began, the arm of His strength will complete;
His promise is Yea and Amen, and never was forfeited yet.
Things future, nor things that are now, nor all things below or above,
Can make Him His purpose forgo, or sever my soul from His love.

My name from the palms of His hands eternity will not erase;
Impressed on His heart it remains, in marks of indelible grace.
Yes, I to the end shall endure, as sure as the earnest is givín;
More happy, but not more secure, the glorified spirits in heavín.

Augustus Montague Toplady (1771)

We sang a new arrangement (by Sovereign Grace Ministries, I believe) of this song today in church.

Leigh,

Augustus Toplady was a great hymnwriter out of the great Calvinist and Puritan tradition. Sovereign Grace Ministries worship team is doing a superb job reviving the great hymns of the Puritan tradition, and that hymn is a classic. To learn more of C.J. Mahaney's ministry and the great worship music they are bringing to us, then go to www.sovereigngraceministries.com

O Wondrous Love

O wondrous love
That will not let me go
I cling to You
With all my strength and soul
Yet if my hold should ever fail
This wondrous love will never let me go

O wondrous love
That's come to dwell in me
Lord who am I
That I should come to know
Your tender voice assuring me
This wondrous love will never let me go

Chorus
I'm resting in the everlasting arms
In the ever faithful heart
The Shepherd of my life
You carry me on
Your mighty wings of grace
Keeping me until the day
I look into your eyes

O wondrous love
That sings of Calvary
The sweetest sound
The sinner's ever known
The song of your
Redeeming Son
Whose wondrous love
Will never let me go

O wondrous love
That rushes over me
I can't escape
This river's glorious flow
You overwhelm
My days with good
Your wondrous love
Will never let me go
