According to my wife they didn't have a good turnout last night! Now the weathermen were calling for thunderstorms and tornadoes, so that may have had a part to play in it.
Elder Walter Pearson, from Breath of Life is a down to earth man. But fromw what I saw at my time at the GC, the bulk of the "leadership" has allowed themselves to be placed upon a pedestal.
People treat them as they would the head of a country, not the infallable men and women that they really are.

I will just pray for more bad weather so no one can go to the meetings. OOPS, my human side is showing.
But I want it my way!!!!! Maybe it would be better if I prayed my original prayer that God take the veil off the eyes, ears, and minds of the people.

I heard on a 'christian radio station' (VOAR) this morning that National Geographic Magazine has voted Doug B. the top authority on Biblical prophecy for our time.
I wonder how that came to be decided and by whom?

Pheeki
I heard it announced on VOAR, an adventist run radio station located Newfoundland, Canada. They also announced an uncoming event in the local church beginning this friday evening, of Doug B's latest seminar(?) being telecast for the benefit of the locals. All are invited.

I still wonder HOW it can be.

Here is what it says on VOAR's website:

quote:

"National Geographic Magazine has recognized Pastor Doug Batchelor of Amazing Facts Ministry as one of the foremost experts on Bible prophecy of this age."

I think what they're referring to is Doug Batchelor being selected (along with several others [non-Adventists]) to appear on a TV special about prophecy on the National Geographic channel. You can read more about that on this thread and this thread.

Thanks Jeremy. That makes it more clear. The local announcer made it sound like big news and seemed very excited about the whole thing. She did make it sound as if DB had been singularly honoured in some way by the magazine.

New update, there are only TWO non-SDA's attending, and they are NOT as a result of the ad's placed for this seminar!!! Apparently they got cheap and only advertised in the local Pennysaver, and the school where they are holding the meetings is in a really BAD neighborhood! And, the "elder" conducting them is a very haughty individual, so maybe the Lord is the cause for the low turn out.

Pastor Ratzlaff send me a box of his booklet "the Truth About the SDA "Truth" and I placed a total of 13 of them on cars at the seminar. One of the reasons they had such a low turn out is because the middle school where the meetings were held is an a VERY BAD drug area, I can not blame people for staying away from there. The night after I placed the booklets my wife came home and told me there is a HUGE stir going on at her church over them!!!! Seems like one of there "elders" is casting blame on several innocent folks, and he is really up in arms. SO the seed of doubt has been planted!!!

91steps,
Congratulations for placing the books on the cars. I wanted to do that when there was a prophecy seminar given by the adventists at the church they rent. That was this past June/July. If God had wanted me to do that I am sure he would have strongly impressed me.
He is always awesome.

Hi all,
Funny story about those booklets being placed on the cars.
I remember as an adventist, taking as many of 'Babylon's' tracks as I could and dumping them so other people would not be deceived.

I haven't seen any adventist churches since I've been in MD, andI do live close to Glen Burnie.

It would feel really strange visiting an adventist church- ugh just the thought.
I'd just make sure to wear my earrings- not that I have a choice anyway- they are still freshly pierced- incidentally I am not enjoying the experience. They put some kind of metal in my ear.I just took it out last night- It's been four weeks. I put some other surgical steel in and this morning I had only one earring in.

Boy did I panic- anyway I got it in, then lost the backing on the other one, so I had to replace them both- traumatic.
I have a very low threshold for pain!
Perhaps I should have just stuck to necklaces.

Anyone wondering why I'm losing earrings already- well I have unusually fat ears lobes- lol. My sister and I crack up about it. I never hear a snap when I put my earrings in; ofcourse my ears are also tender which is a part of the problem.
How does one lose weight on an earlobe??? and just an earlobe???

I admire all of you ladies for not complaining about earrings.

God Bless

I have had my ears pierced like 12 times...no lie! My mom would see them and make me take them out...I would wait a few paydays and go do it again.

Silly.

Al-Nadean, I have fat earlobes as well! Your story made me giggle as I can relate. I was 12 when my Mom took me down to the beauty salon to have my ears pierced. This was 1979, and at that time the only people I knew who had pierced ears besides my Mom were the sweet little Mexican babies here in San Diego. I was so excited, yet anxious, and when the lady placed the "gun" on my lobe I heard "POP!" and then "Uh-oh..." and then another "POP!" She said my lobe was so fat that she had to pierce it twice!

When it was over I tried to get out of the chair and had a head rush so bad that I thought I was going to faint.

Good times, good times...

If you have an expensive pair of stud type earrings that you don't want to lose, you can get screw backs put on. They are also really comfortable to wear and even to sleep in. I wear diamond studs 'round the clock and it's nice not to have to worry about putting them in or losing them.

For your shepherd hook earrings you can use these little "stops" that they make just for earrings. They come in a clear plastic type material and are short little tubes that slip over the end of the wire. It keeps them from slipping out of your ears, and are great when you have long hair that tends to pull them out.

I also think you can get extra long posts put on studs.

If your ears aren't healing you may be allergic to the type of metal they are made of. Gold is the best and least likely to offend, but my daughter is allergic to it! So try different metals until you find one that works!

Enjoy you earrings, they are so much fun!
