The Key The story is told of a group of hard bitten gamblers whose hotel room had caught on fire, now these gamblers were true card players and the dealer told them ìWait, we have time to play just one more hand, I have the key to the back doorî and so they all agreed to play just one more hand, they finished the hand and gathered at the back door, one of them exclaimed ìThe key wonít turn the lock!!î and the dealer said ìLet me have it!!î and he tried desperately to get the lock to turn, to their horror and dismay, they held the wrong key. Jesus said in John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. It also say in Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. And yet again Mat 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: Our Adventist friends continually try to turn the lock with the righteousness earned under Sabbath keeping and whipped on daily by the church to ìGo at it againî. How sad for any of us should we suddenly discover that all along we had the wrong key. I thought this might be appropriate for today. River | ||
