I was asked to add two other groups to the prayer chain list, so I posted it under the 11th move for the prayer chain. Then I decided to put everything together in one spot and move the prayer chain reminder for all to see.
So, for the newcomers, this is what the prayer chain is all about. If you want me to add another group, just list it in this thread and I will add it next week.
I pray that God be with each of us as we remember our friends and relatives still in adventism.
It is two years ago we started the prayer chain. We thought it was important to pray for our loved ones and friends still in the Seventh day Adventist church. We decided to set a day/days and time/times to pray, so this is what we did.
This is when we pray together, as a group, for our loved ones still in the clutches of the SDA church/Satan/EGW.
The first time we pray is Friday evening at sundown in our own time zones. The second time is Saturday afternoon at 1 PM, PT, 4 PM ET and what ever the time is in your time zone. On Saturday we pray as a group, even though we are scattered. But God is still in the midst of us and hears our prayers.
Here is our list of who we pray for:
1. All SDAs from the GC down to the smallest church in the world.
2. All unchurched members. All the agnostics, atheists and unbelievers who are former SDAs.
3. All those who are coming under the influence of SDAs through such things as the SDA friends, Revelation Seminars and baptismal classes.
4. All Christians who think SDAs are just another Christian church.
5. All those writing on R/S, Spectrum, CARM and similar sites.
6. All SDA children who are being exposed to The Clear Word for Kids, history of EGW at the early age of first grade and younger and other distinctive SDA doctrine that is not Biblical.
7. We pray for each other, that God will use us to teach others His love and about what Jesus did for each of us and that the Holy Spirit fill us.
8. Dirk Anderson and the hassle he is receiving from the White estate. That God will be glorified in what ever happens and that Adventism will be exposed for what they really teach.
9. That God bless our next reunion in Feb 2007.
10. Lurkers who are in the process of leaving the SDA church.
11. Those SDAs reading the the new SDA book(it does not deserve the title Bible) with EGW's books intermixed with the Bible.
12. All those receiving Proclamation! magazine. That they will be convicted in their heart, mind and soul of the Bible truths and will search the Bible for themselves to know the truth of the Bible, God's love letter to all of us.
13. Colleen and Richard Tinker and all who work with Life Assurance Ministries that God will protect them in all ways.
We are physically separated, but spiritually we are one as we pray and God is in the midst of us, with the Holy Spirit taking our prayers to the Father. What a group we are connected with. It could not get any better, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Matt 7:7 Ask and it will be given you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. v. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the seeker finds, and to him who knocks it is opened. Berkeley Version, Modern English Bible.
We will be asking, seeking and knocking on Friday and Saturday, and in our daily prayers, for all our requests and God does hear us and answers us. That is a promise and God keeps His promises.
Join us at our prayer times Friday at sundown and Sat at 1 PM, PT. I look forward to all of us praying at the same time. God is receiving all these prayers at the same time. He is answering our prayers in ways we cannot see, at this time.
Our God is always awesome.

When we started this I asked that if anyone found a Bible verse about prayer to post it here. I forgot about that until I read the original prayer chain posts. So, when you come across a Bible text about prayer, please post it here for us to meditate on before we pray. I will be reposting some of the texts we found 2 years ago.
Thanks for all your prayers for our loved ones and friends in the clutches of adventism/egw.
God is awesome and will answer our prayers beyond our wildest expectations.

Diana, you asked for a scripture verse on prayer. Here are three that came to my mind.

Isa 56:7 "Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices [shall be] accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people."

Rev 8:4 "And the smoke of the incense, [which came] with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand."

Hbr 13:15 "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of [our] lips giving thanks to his name."

I like the idea that our prayers ascend to God as the smoke of incense as we offer our sacrifices of praise to Him.

This is OUR prayer chain. I am just the one who makes sure it is updated, etc.
God is so awesome.

THE WEEKLY REMINDER FOR THE PRAYER CHAIN. Following are some verses from I Tim about prayer.
I Tim 2 1-4: I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. As you make your requests, plead for God's mercy upon them, and give thanks. Pray this way for kings and all others who are in authority, so that we can live in peace and quietness, in godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, for HE WANTS EVERYONE TO BE SAVED AND TO UNDERSTAND THE TRUTH.
I really like that last part, He wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. This is from the Life Recovery Bible, new living translation.
So as we pray on Friday evening at sundown and Saturday at 1 PM, PT/4 PM ET and whatever the time is in your time zone let us remember that He wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.
Let us not forget to thank Him also.
See you at our prayer times.
God is truly awesome.

ATTENTION: DO NOT FORGET, AT SUNDOWN FRIDAY EVENING, TO PRAY FOR ALL OUR SDA RELATIVES AND FRIENDS AND FORMERS AND ALL THOSE MENTIONED ABOVE. THEN ON SATURDAY AT 1PM PACIFIC TIME, 4PM EAST COAST TIME,WE PRAY UNITED AROUND THE WORLD.
James 5:16 the last part says..."the earnest prayer of a righteous person has great effect." The context is talking about healing the sick. But I am sure God will hear our united voices as we pray tomorrow and Saturday. And it will have great effect.
God will show us how awesome He is again and again.

Ah, Diana, your faithfulness in this is phenomenal. Thank you for the reminder. I haven't been here much because I've been posting on CARM until my fingers are ready to fall off. Actually, I haven't even had much to say over there recently because the SDA pastors who post have gone all ecclesiastical and are quoting Greek and Hebrew. Being a dabbler in only one language, I don't feel adequate to discuss, so I've been simply reading. Praise the Lord that there are formers who carry on.

You know, growing up SDA I guess I thought everybody was solid of skull to new ideas. Some of those folks have braincases made of titanium! There is one who is now arguing that Paul was talking about astrology when he cautioned the Galatians against returning to elemental things. I wonder who came up with that dodge and how widespread it is.

This may not be the appropriate thread to make this comment on, but since it deals with prayers for our Adventist brothers and sisters, I felt it wouldn't hurt to talk a bit about current observations of their willingness to remain in the thrall of their beliefs.

Adventism is like a drug, a very strong, very addictive drug (maybe like Oxycontin?) I heard that Oxycontin destroys your ability to hear if you abuse the drug. Adventism has the same ability to dull the thinking, hearing, and visual senses spiritually. I never really knew how dangerous it is until I spent the past few months laboring at CARM. Powerful prayer is needed, and I feel in my bones that time is short.

Blessings to all of you, my brothers and sisters. Stay the course, for there is laid up for you a robe of righteousness.

Belvalew, I'm so happy to see you here again! How is your ankle/foot? Your back?

Your assessment of Adventism as akin to a highly addictive drug is really accurate. And your use of the word "thrall" is totally appropriate. They are under the spell of a spirit of deceit, and they literally cannot hear truth. It is a complete miracle when anyone leaves Adventism.

Belva,
I know what you mean as I read the CARM posts every day and am just amazed how dull of thinking, hearing and seeing the SDA are. I do agree that it is like a highly addictive drug. That is one of the reasons God reminds me to be faithful with the prayer chain.
I think that SDA who get to know Christ are kind of like the Moslims who come to know Christ. The Mulims have a dream, as I have read here, that directs them to Jesus. The SDA at least have a Bible in their hands and God directs them. So let us keep on praying for those still caught in the grips of adventism/EGW.
God's children will hear His voice and come out. I want us to be there to greet them.
Never forget how awesome God is.

Dear Colleen, thank you for asking. It will soon be a year since my ankle transplant. I have phenomenal range of motion, according to my foot doctor, and he took a couple of brag pictures to show off to his collegues. All that means is that I can move the ankle around in the air. As for supporting my weight in those various positions--I have a longer road to go. I had several set-backs (A surgical stabilizer worked its way out of my foot, and I ended up with a case of cellulitis as a result. The other stabilizer was causing a great deal of pain, and my arthritic condition allowed some more bone spurs to form, so I had to have surgeries for all of that). Therefore I have residual weakness and sensitivity. Time will tell.

Tuesday I will undergo another epidural on my back with the hope that this one will be better placed to address the pain from my bulging disks. I had a bone-scan done a couple of months ago that pinpointed the exact location of the enflamamtion and congestion in my lower spine, but then I had another cardiac event that had to be corrected by another cardioversion and modification of medications. The epidural that was planned had to be postponed until I was no longer taking the blood thinner Coumadin. All I can say is, "Praise God for good medical insurance."

I don't know what is keeping me awake tonight, the new medical cocktail I take, or the spinal discomfort, or a combination of the two. Recommendation to the wise--take good care of your bodies. Try to avoid injurious accidents and diseases. Respect your joints and keep your muscles strong and toned. The repairs that can be made by modern medical science are amazing, but they don't hold a candle to the body in its original, unaltered state. Surgeries don't really correct things, they can only reduce the damage after it has taken place.

Belva,
I have put you, again, on my prayer list that I keep next to my computer. I have written "Belva and Med problems". God knows what they are.
You remind me of Paul who praised God in all situations, even when he was in a dark, dank prison.
You praise Him when you cannot sleep and I have no idea how much pain you are in. God bless you. You know I love you and would like to see you again.
We do have a very awesome God.

The prayer chain has been translated to Danish and a Spanish translation is under way as well. Expect many more former adventist and concerned Christians to pray for deliverance of SDA.

In Him!

REMINDER FOR THE PRAYER CIRCLE. FRIDAY EVENING AT SUNDOWN IN OUR OWN TIME ZONES AND SATURDAY AT 1PM, PACIFIC TIME, 4 PM EASTERN TIME AND WHATEVER THE TIME IS IN YOUR TIME ZONE.
Read the list in the first post to see who we pray for.
Verses to read and meditate on before we pray.

These were given to us by Honestwitness.
See you at our prayer times on Friday sundown and Saturday at 1 PM.
God is doing awesome things, some of which we see.
Thank you God.
Diana
