Does it realley exists?
I live in Norway and years back my wife bought The Clear Word. Oud bock has this title on the cover "The Clear Word", but as I lock on the website: http://millennium.fortunecity.com/lincoln/666/clearwordbible/clear-word.htm
I see a scanned picture of "The Clear Word BIBLE"

I like to know if Review and Herald Publishing Assosiation has printet two different covers with different names on the boock. Can anyone here help we with an answer?

If there still are copies with the title "The Clear Word Bible" available, I will very much appreciate to get information that can lead me to get a copy of this boock named "TCW Bible". This will be very helpful for me and my fellow believers.

It's my understanding The Clear Word Bible was the original printing. Then when there were accusations it's not really a Bible, future printings were changed to leave the word "Bible" off. I don't know if it's still possible to purchase the original printing of The Clear Word Bible. I do know there are now several different options of The Clear Word - such as a kid's version, large print, etc. I counted 15 different Clear Word options at The Adventist Book Center:
http://www.adventistbookcenter.com/Browse.tpl?category=BIBL
And these are all listed in the "Bibles" section.

Its interesting when I search on amazon.com, most references to The Clear Word includes the word "Bible".

Maybe some of them has the original title, check out the used ones.

Yes, but the dates are different, may its just a sneaky move by SDA to change the pictures on all the available products. Also I noticed one picture which was just blank ... Maybe you can contact the dealers of the used books to hear what cover it has.

In the back of the 3rd Quarter Sabbath School lessons they advertise several books including "The Easy English Clear Word." Nowhere in the advertisement does the word 'Bible' appear. It looks just like any of the other books that they hawk at the back of this lesson guide (which by the way, is about the IJ). It's called "The new easy English edition of The Clear Word, by Jack Blanco..." So the adventist church has evidently stopped calling it a Bible, but they still promote it and use it as a reference.

You're right, Larryóbut the catch is that most evangelicals refer to the Bible as "the Word". In most Christian circles, "the Word" is as common a designation as "the Bible".

"The word", in fact, was one of the evangelical phrases that made me uncomfortable as an Adventist, and I still have a deep, almost-unconscious sense of resistance to it. The name "The Clear Word" is certainly no accident! It's intended to communicate "The Bible".

Colleen,
I didn't mean that they don't think of it as the Bible, they 'Clear'ly do. It's almost as if they are trying to camoflage it so that less knowledgeable readers will see the advertisement as just for another good book, and not as an adulterated paraphrase of the bible. I think that the avoidance of the word 'Bible' is dishonest (dishonesty = intent to mislead, either by action or inaction). Honesty and forthrightness mandate the use of the terms 'paraphrase' and 'Bible' somewhere within the advertisement.

The book is clearly understood and used by some Adventists as a Bible. A Rose by any other name...

My Mormon friends consider the Book of Mormon to be on par with scripture.

The really important the fundamental question is "What is our source of authority?" Jews, Muslims, and Mormons have their definition. Roman Catholics have a Bible that includes more than ours, but their true definition is from tradition - canon law. JW's use their own translation. Further, some today will include visions, dreams and the words of a prophet as a source of authority. (Adventists, Mormons to name two)

Protestants are committed to finding the most accurate interpretation from the best compilation of ancient texts. There is a whole field of study that examines all available texts and fragments in order to present an accurate and honest picture of the original text. Where there are conflicts, these are noted. Translators used these to produce as accurate a reading as possible. Many of us find the NASB and NRSV to be the most accurate translations. This is not to say that we all find those the most edifying to read, but to understand truth we need to accurately have truth presented.

See:
• "The New Testament Documents - Are they Reliable?" F.F. Bruce
• "History of the Bible in English" F.F. Bruce
• "The New Evidence that Demands a Verdict" Josh McDowell. See Chapter 2, "How we got the Bible"

Many Adventist leaders and scholars really dislike and have opposed the Clear Word.

The only clear thing in the "Clear Word Bible" is it clearly has a SDA slant. I would treat it as I would any book by a man or woman. It is clear to me it should not be called a bible. I would avoid it as much as I have avoided allowing any of EGW books to confuse and distroy my faith. Stick with the most accurate translation and always consider the context. Allow the Holy Spirit to teach you not man. I prefer KJV along with my Strongs Exhaustive Concordance. The thing about the KJV is many times Satan tried unsuccessfully to stop the translation into English. Although the Old English style can be a little difficult, I still prefer it. Do you know of any cases where anyone is being killed for making new translations today?
