My husband who you've been praying for aksed me this question today. Now mind you he has been suffering for years with pain and has alot of time on his hands, but he wonders why he has to suffer for years here and then as many folks believe today burn in hell for eternity? he wonders why ppl would love and worship a God that would do that. He asked me if we procreated a bunch of childern if it wouldnt be possible for us to expect our kids to love, worship and obey us and if they didnt we would let them suffer the consequences forever...... wouldnt ppl tend to see us as cruel and indiffernt? when some say ahh but you have a choice,no you really dont you either love God,or burn in hell for eternity,he thinks like you will be as though you never were. what he has been pondering is this though(remember lots of time on his hands) what if we were the 1/3 of the angels? if we said ok God try me cause I'm not too sure about all this and so we were cast out and being tried here,bt we dont know it until judgment day,and we say well you know i dont think it was fair you created me I didnt ask for any of this, and God puts in the DVD and says oh but you did??? and every knee will bow and say you are a just and merciful God. Just wondered your thoughts, might be a good sci-fi movie???

Dawn,
As an occupational therapist who is trained in myofascial release and who has done this from head to toe on patients, I want to ask about his pain. If you would rather write to me privately, Colleen has my permission to send you my email address. I might be able to send you to where he can be helped.
Maybe this is what God wants me to do-help your husband. Who knows??
Our God does and He is awesome.

Dawn, my prayer for your husband will be that God wil place in him a hunger for His word. The problem is that he is speculating without being grounded in truth and reality. The Bible actually reveals the faithful, patient, long-suffering God who "in his forbearanceÖleft the sins committed beforehand unpunishedóhe did this to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus" (Romans 3:25-26).

There actually are no answers to your husband's questions apart from the truth in the word of God taught to us by the Holy Spirit. As long as we cling to the value of our own logic instead of submitting our lives to the Word of God, we will run into spiritual and philosophical brick walls.

I feel for your husband; chronic pain is wearying. God wastes nothing, however, and He redeems everything we submit to Him. Even this pain and this mental turmoil are things God can redeem in his life.

Praying for him...
