Happy Birthday to River and Leigh Anne and whoever else is having a birthday too! And thanks for the good wishes!

It's a good day today for me so far, mostly quiet. One strange thing did happen though. I heard thumping noises out east of the house. At first I discounted them, then as they continued I decided to go see what the kids were into. Well they were all present and accounted for inside!

This brought me to consider other 'noisemakers' around here and brought me to the culprit - Jodie Rose, our half grown Percheron/Belgian-cross workhorse. She was kicking all the water troughs she could reach (there are three in the corner of that field. Two were upside down already and one was being tipped and tipped again but not quite falling over (this third one now has a leak. I wonder . . . :-))

She had a good excuse for this racket though - all three troughs were empty (unless you count the ice lumps in one of them). The other two horses (her parents) just stood around nearby but they all came to attention when I brought water out!

Mary, I'm glad you're having a great day! You are such a beautiful blessing, and I truly hope that the coming year is a great one for you.

WOW - you have horses??!! Very cool. Being a city girl the only horses I come in contact with are on a carrousel!

I do have two cats though...

:-) Happy happy Birthday ~

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mary, we used to have a horse named Old Rod and he would kick his stall and we would say"there goes old rod, building a new barn".

Lol! I can picture Old Rod doing that!

This year's colt, Duke, lives in our barn because he has a propensity to avoid recognizing that electric fencing exists. So far he hasn't taking to kicking though.

Oh, and Leigh Anne, I'd be happy to let you spend time with our horses if you weren't so far away!

I'm in Kentucky.

You see that old horse over in the left hand corner of the screen?
The camera got him just as he was puckering his lips. The picture is too small but it looks like he is laughing.Ha! He is a Tennessee Walker.

Happy Birthday to you and Mary and LeighAnne and Cy and any one else.

Thanks to you all for the Birthday wishes!

Leigh Anne

Man, February is a popular month. Which means June must have been a very fertile one..

Actually, that makes May the fertile month. Our oldest daughter's birthday is coming up this Tuesday.

Hey, our younger son turns 20 this Tuesday, also! Being the step-mom, I can't speak to the month of May, but I've surely been enjoying the February results for many years! (I love it when people who don't know our relationship tell me how much he looks like me!)

Our only daughter was born right before Christmas and two of my grandchildren was born right after Christmas, it really gets spendy about that time.
We brought my daughter home in a Christmas stocking.

Apparently the 13th is a lucky day no matter what day it falls on...

Our daughter who turns 14 this Tuesday was born on a Saturday and was exactly on her due date and weighed exactly textbook average, 7 lbs 8 oz.

Our younger daughter was also born on the 13th (different month) but she was born on a Thursday. Each missed Friday by a day. Oh, and she was the exact inverse - 8 lbs 7 oz, and was nowhere close to on time, 10 days late. They are the opposite in hair and eye color as well as personalities.

My daughter was actually due on my birthday (the 15th) but as custom with all the women in my family she was late and had to be induced on the 27th. Darn, I was really hoping we could share the day!

Okay now,

My second son, and third child Shaun will be 19 on february 13. As to his weight,
expected due date,
length,
ability to suckle,
etc, etc, etc.

You would have to ask his mother. Don't get me wrong....I was there....I do remember it was six in the morning, and I was to work, bragging to my patients at 9am.

As to the month of May I was there as well, but again, I defer to his mother!

Ironically our 2nd daughter, and 4th(and last) child was also born on the 13th, of september the following year.

Over the years, many people have questioned the sanity of 4 kids in 5 years, often time, no one more so than me.

Best wishes to those of you celebrating birthdays.

I'll add my stats:

October seems to be the "lucky?" month for us as we celebrate 4 different milestones:

October 10 - we celebrate our wedding anniversary

october 11 - my 8th year old's birthday (his due date was actually December 8 but guess he couldn't wait to come out!) He's a big guy now!

october 19 - my birthday AND ALSO

my 6th year old's birthday (he was huge at 9 lbs. 7 ounces and needless to say born by c-section. Right before the anesthesia, the doctors and nurses sang "Happy Birthday" (It was kind of calming for my nerves) .

At my last job I had an assistant who's birthday was also October 19.
