Okay, I just received a copy of "National Sunday Law" today in the mail. I felt happy for myself, that I don't believe that. Then I felt angry... How dare they ??? They are trying to evangelize with fear.... Scare Adventists and Former Adventists. Scare them away from other Christians. Shame on that doctrine, and those who push it. My advice to anyone who receives this book. Go to a grace teaching Sunday church where you can "believe in Jesus" alone and be saved! Do not be burdened by this nonsense. Do not be consumed by the fear taught that you must worship on the Sabbath or lose your Salvation. Fear that you must obstain from unclean meats, and meat. Fear you might get your eyes poked out. Fear of the next natural disaster being the end. Fear of the end when there is a strange glow in the sky. Fear of a days work not being good enough. Fear of not waking up. Fear of fear. No, there is no Sunday Law. That is a very very old book, meant to scare people. Can't wait to show it to the people I know who go to church on Sunday so they can know what the Seventh Day Adventist church teaches. | ||

Lynn, I received my copy last summer. Finley and Bachelor are the Sunday law peddlers, although any true Adventist endorses it. I too, have been exposing Adventist error to anyone who will listen. We must be careful, however, not to seek damage to the people in that church. They are deceived, but not lost. I have had the feeling for some time now that something big is about to happen to the SDA church. Something that will expose the error and the "leaders" who have tried to control the public image. Fear not, God always finds a way to shed light on His truth, and the Bible is always the right place to start and finish all discussion. steve | ||

Steve, I agree. I am very careful and sensitive to this now. I too for many years was deceived, but also believe not lost. I considered the church and it's teachings with respect as one considers a parent and the flock as my family. It was never in my heart to be rebellious, because we cannot deny that there is some goodness therein. However, the bible does speak louder than our parents, than any church or words spoken by man. Only Jesus and the Word of God can break through errors, beliefs, traditions, cultures and such in the blink of an eye. The errors I was taught were subtle. To intellectually think it wasn't about works, as I was taught to think and say so by the church. Yet deep in my heart, buried below the surface were the teachings, a doctrine of works. However, I knew, as many Adventists know from more deeply within, the bible says what it says. The truth is not found in keeping Sabbath days, in what we eat or what we must do for our Father in heaven to be pleased. It is about Jesus. What He did for us. That is enough for me. With that I can be fruitful as a Christian and grow. I pray that many, if not most, better yet, all Seventh Day Adventist church leaders will some day understand the doctrine of grace first, and continue in doing good and in many good works. But not for the sake of good works for salvation. Imagine how much more blessed the Adventist hospitals and institutions would be if the church turned to grace alone! I'm talking dollar bills here! In the billions! I'm not just a dreamer. Pray! Many people in this church are seeking Him and searching through doctrine. Some are lost. Through Him all things are possible. Lynne | ||

Had to look that up, did a search on the internet and came up with a slick called "Worlds last chance" Looked Adventist as they said that the test would be Sabbath keeping, Bla bla, I could not find who is back of the web site. River | ||

You know, I wish there were some way to send out a message about how rediculous the "National Sunday Law" is. On www.ellenwhite.org they have the best and most logical explainations for why it's such a joke. In our country it's hard enough to even say Jesus on TV unless its a curse word, courthouses are getting sued for displaying the 10 commandments and athiests are suing to get rid of the word God from money and our pledge of allegiance. There are enough Jews and Muslims in our country who would totally oppose a NSL and buisnesses would lose more money by having to adhere to a NSL. It would really cause a lot of financial problems in our economy. Not only that, but regular Christians who worship on Sunday couldn't care less about when people worship, as it's never been an issue. The whole thing is absolute hog-wash, and yet another "prophecy" that will prove false. I've heard it preached in SDA churches, and it's yet another message during a worship service which has absolutely NOTHING to do with Jesus! Yes I'm mad! Leigh Anne | ||

When I attended LLU as a student, I received several of EG White's books in my Mail Box. Ministry of Healing was one of them. I found it odd then and I find it odd now, that as a "Christian" institution, they never put a Bible in my Mail box... | ||

I guess you could say that I'm in a reflective period as I haven't posted for quite some time. I visited this site after receiving Proclamation this month...Seeing these posts on "National Sunday Law" brought back some memories. Another memory is that back in 1989, when I didn't have a clue about SDA being a cult, I attended an SDA church in Soquel, CA for like four weeks...And of all of the subjects we covered, it was the section of the bible that "supposedly" dealt with the National Sunday Law. That is when I got my first copy of this interesting book...See other discussion on National Sunday Law Mass Mailing, for other comments, if interested.  | ||

I remember how my wife and I were "roped" into the whole N.S.L. thing for the first few years that we were in the church. But I soon realized just how foolish that whole concept was. Imagine no NASCAR races on Sun, no football or any other sports??? Nah, never happen. |
