This is the first that I have had time to write and share my thoughts about the weekend. This was my first FAF weekend and it was awesome. It was so neat to meet many of the forum members and also lots of people who shared a similar past to myself. A number of people including Colleen have shared some of their memories on the forum since the weekend but I would like to talk about the music. Being a musical person myself I was especially moved by the music that we did each session. On Friday evening the worship team chose My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less, In Christ Alone, Amazing Grace and Knowing You. I have sung all of these songs many times before but there was something very special about singing them with a group of 100 or more people who had shared my past and now were trusting in Christ Alone. I saw many tears and also many shouts of joy and applause as the truths that we were singing gripped all of us. There were times that I just couldn't sing because the emotion was so great. I just copied the words to In Christ Alone. When we sang the last verse people shouted out in joy and clapped. It was unbelievable. It truly was a taste of what we will experience someday in glory.

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

Blessed, I agreeóthe music was overwhelming. I just never "get over" the amazement of singing these songs on THIS side of knowing Jesus! These songs are completely newóand I agree, it was beyond words to sing them with dozens of others who share my past and also my joy in Jesus.

This freedom God has brought to us after years of bondage in invisible chains leaves us forever altered. We will never be the same. Praise God!

What it does too us when we realize Gods amazing grace, what joy, what peace when the load is removed from us saving ourselves, when we lay our lives both now and for the future at the feet of Jesus.
I am really weepy this morning, I have been shedding tears since I got up at 3:AM this morning.
How strange it would seem to some to see a 66 year old man, sitting, praying, reading the Bible, writing and weeping, hair sticking out in all directions but I don't care!!
Oh the Joy, contentment and peace he brings.
